Comments (3)You absolutely, emphatically, undeniably should not use an LVT in an unheated sunroom. You should not and can not use LVT, DuraCeramic, Vinyl (Gluedown), Konecto, Cork, or anything that has a vinyl composition to it. Now, I will be honest..I would not be afraid to put down a fiber floor Vinyl loose layed (no Glue) with an over sized expansion gap covered loosely (not Pinched with either base or 1/4 round as if the fiberfloor would shrink and expand, you would probably still be ok and not be offended. Porcelain Tile will work for you..and increase your home value as opposed to any other viable choice. Carpet (and they make some nice products that are fairly fade proof) will work and be inexpensive also. It gets cold in Chi-town in the winter and hot in the summer. You do not want a wood either....and especially not a vinyl product unless you take a calculated risk with a floating fiber floor (and that would only be if the floor is under 12 wide)....See MoreTrying to heat a second floor sun room addition
Comments (6)No insulation in the roof makes changing out the windows a moot point in my opinion. All your heat is going out the top. If you plan on doing anything with the room, you better insulate the top. Closed cell spray foam is your only real solution here given the amount of space for insulation. Baseboard electric is horrid, very inefficient. I had bought one of those free standing baseboard type electric heaters once, I had the idea it would be good because its quiet. I used it for a month and saw a big difference in my electric bill, and stopped using it. What about the room underneath the sunroom? Isnt that cold also or is there insulation between the sunroom and the room below? How much sq ft is the sunroom and what is the current heating in the house?...See Moreshould I paint living room grey if I have grey floors?
Comments (4)Depends upon your furniture somewhat, however. Have you thought about a color such as Benjamin Moore Smokey Taupe? Might give a slightly warmer feel to the room without doing a color such as bluish & greenish . Really have to sample colors in the room. Or you could just do a while complimentary to your floors....See MoreSun room with white brick wall looking to replace floor.
