Please help....Stained front door interior and painted trim?
Comments (5)I live in a 70+ year old Cape. This door had always been painted to match the trim. This year, I decided to strip it and stain it. Here are the results. Since all the trim in my house is painted an 'almost white', I wouldn't consider stripping the surrounding trim....See MoreI Need help with paint color for front door and screen. Awnings & trim
Comments (8)Hi Debbie: Just got to check out Behr paints last evening. I didn't get any samples, so this is just from color swatches. Here's my recommendations: - If you can find a paint color consultant in your area, I bet it will be worth your time and $. They may recommend colors you've never thought of, painting the brick, etc. The sheen of the paint you choose, as well as the paint product can affect the appearance of the color you pick. Pros are great at guiding you through this. - To keep it simple, I'd do your trim and screen door in Behr Painter's White (PPU18-8), Eggshell or Satin Enamel - A safe color for your front door would be a green (assuming you don't paint the brick). I'd do the front door in Semi-Gloss Enamel. A few possibilities are (all Behr) Alpine Air BXC-38, Potting Moss BXC-82, Simply Sage PPU10-16. Would love to see you "after" picture!...See MoreDo you paint the sidelights on front door the color as the front door
Comments (2)All the same color because it's essentially one in the same element. In other words, you can have a door with no side lights but you can't have side lights without a door. That's why it doesn't make sense to paint the side lights a different color from the door....See MoreShould I paint the sidelights the trim or door color?
Comments (13)Painting the sidelights white will make the door stand out more, IMO. Agree with black or the current color and no shutters, wider steps, a larger lantern light (1/4 - 1/3 the door's height,) new landscaping, and a new walkway to the street. I think new landscaping will be highest impact for this house though....See Morebusybee3
