Differences in stainless steel appliance's stainless steel
Comments (7)The other option is to just get over it. :) A kitchen is a workroom. Most people prefer to choose best in class from many different manufacturers to ensure their work room works efficiently. No manufacture makes best in class in each category, so if you choose the best functioning DW, you will probably end up with a different brand range and a different brand fridge anyway. As long as everything IS stainless, it's fine. And, there are plenty of people who even mix stainless and non stainless successfully. Anyone who comes in your home and turns their nose up at coordinating stainless appliances that do not necessarily match needs to be thrown out of your home....See Morewhite versus stainless steel appliances
Comments (2)Looks are a matter of personal opinion so you're strictly on your own there. You shouldn't let anybody tell you what "looks best"; your opinion is the only one that matters. Nobody I know has problems with denting their appliances, so that's not really an issue. That leaves maintenance. White is probably the easiest finish to maintain, stainless is on the opposite end of the scale - I've never seen a thread here about "how the heck do I clean my white appliance" but a quick search should turn up plenty threads on how to clean stainless. One thing to watch for with white, though: white cooktops often come with gray grates, which look sharp up until you use them. The ideal combination from a maintenance standpoint (in my opinion, of course) would be a white cooktop and black grates....See MoreA white sink with stainless steel appliances?

Funny, I didn't even realize they were going to be in the picture, but this is the second time people have looked at that photo and wondered if maybe I just have oddly tall rugs. Graywings, sorry I can't be of much help on the cabinets. They came with the house. I don't think they are a super high-end brand (the house was mostly used as a summer residence before we bought it) because the joinerwork isn't fantastic, but I have to say they are holding up really well. We think they were probably installed in 1991 when previous owners did a pretty big remodel. They are in need of a new paint job now, but other than that they work pretty well. I've not found any kind of sticker or plate identifying the manufacturer....See MoreMixing appliances ( white, black , stainless steel. )
Comments (2)I never really consider a sink to be an appliance. Hence it's not part of my color scheme. If you're grey, I'd probably recommend stainless for the DW, stove and fridge. Being separated by space and a white sink I think would keep it from being too much steel....See MoreRelated Professionals
