My husband says: You need to remove the screws holding the outlet in the wall (turn off the circuit breaker first) and place spacers between the butterfly part of the outlet and the wall. Reinsert the screws and tighten until the butterflies are flush with the tile surface, I purchased the plastic spacers at Home Depot in the electrical department.

OK, rmlanza, not invisible...but probably the best solution I could imagine for a situation with no backsplash. I like it! We had a similar challenge with a very large, triangular island. A triangular section of the island was lowered by three inches to serve as DW's baking center (easier to roll dough on a lower counter). Fortunately, we were able to snug a plugmold into a small space between the upper and lower counters so that it's partially obscured by the overhang. But if that opportunity hadn't presented itself, I would've opted for your solution. Bob

We ordered glass outlet covers to match our glass tile backsplash from a company I found on-line. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend that company--we had many problems with the order. All they did was paint the back of clear glass outlet covers to match the tile sample I sent them. I will say that while I was not happy with the customer service from that company, I am fairly happy with the finished products. If I had to do it over, I would get clear glass outlet covers myself and go to a craft store to find paint to match. That approach would be cheaper, and the quality of the finished product would be better than the covers we ended up with. Good luck.

In this case I already know I want them. I've worked in two separate businesses that had attractive, hinged outlet covers that I liked, and that's the aesthetic I want here. They weren't the utilitarian and temporary ugly things you find in babies' rooms or on outdoor outlets, but covers made especially for indoor environments that want to cover outlets up. I know they do, or at least at one time did, exist. The trouble I'm running into is just finding a source for them.
