I need help with picking colors ASAP
Comments (5)All the other posts I see looking for curb appeal say to not paint the garage door white. It then becomes the focal point, rather that your front door. Most others would also tell you to remove the shutters as they are not sized right for the windows. I see them as an opportunity to visually break up all that brick. That being said, I don't think white is the right color. Maybe something in a midrange taupe, grey with brown undertones....See MoreNeed Help Picking a Front Door Color
Comments (17)Thank you for all the great ideas everyone! I can't buy a new door right now, but I will refer back to these when I am ready. :) Regarding the color selection, right now I'm leaning towards the orange. Has anyone ever used Ben Moore's Racing Orange? I'm wondering if that would be the burnt orange I'm looking for. I'm in a very traditional neighborhood and do not want to shock my neighbors with anything too bright....See MorePlease HELP with exterior paint colors! Need to pick ASAP!
Comments (9)@decoenthusiaste LOL! I regretted the 'modern farmhouse' when I wrote it. I think I mean a monochrome look, darker overall, with siding, trim and fascia all one color. I am just not into the white highlighter outline look so many are doing. Want to be ahead of the trend and stand out. However, I am so afraid to get it 'wrong.' We did choose a roof color that pulls all the brick colors together. It's an overall medium to darker gray, with hints of warmth and black through. We would ideally like to avoid coating the brick. We would consider after, if it looks bad. We would really like to keep it and roll with it. The garage doors will be converted to one larger door, but yes, there is brick between, with a strip of hideous siding above currently. All to be redone. Unfortunately, we are headed into winter and the siding color needs to be selected this week, or we push to next year...and we just don't want to do that....See MoreNeed to pick siding color ASAP!
Comments (35)No shutters. I like that lime green or the canary yellow that Jinx did for you. Someone mentioned red. I like this. But it HAS to be a vibrant red. no brick red, or blah red. Make it a lipstick red. a red that has blue undertones to it, not yellow. (Try SW Valentine) AND, you must bring in the red foilage in the flower beds if you want to complete the look. I covered up your shrubs (which do nothing) so you can see how much nicer the entire front of the house would look. I also gave you a silver sconce and address numbers below it. Replace those round shrubs w/a japanese maple and the red geraniums. maria talks about pairing the front door w/complimentary colors w/plants and other decor. https://mariakillam.com/create-gorgeous-curb-appeal-with-front-doors/ If you like the cooler tones, you could go w/any of the blues/blue-greens, but you'd have to bring in these beautiful blue tones in these ceramic pots to up the color in the flower beds and porch. Love any of these colors. But, I gotta say, I'm partial to the red/viole/pink end of the spectrum Live a little. who wants a front door like everyone else? Besides, it's only paint. Similar to BM Petunia Pink. Dark siding w/a pale pink and white trim look great together. Personally I'd go w/something a bit bolder, (and when spring comes along, give the flower beds a redo. those round shrubs do nothing to compliment the home. in fact, they blend into the dark siding. you don't want that. ) see what they've done here? yes, I see your shrubs like they show in this pic! but they are against a light siding in this pic. With your dark siding, those shrubs disappear. Fuchsia. I love this combo. Wild Orchid color. Man I love me some lavender mixed w/pink and blues! BM Exotic Fuchsia Any of these colors would look amazing w/your siding. bring in some natural wood accents w/some chairs or some cedar window boxes. A yam/goldenrod colored front door would be pretty w/vibrant greens and whites in your flower bed. You want these bright chartreuse greens against your dark siding, regardless of your door color. flower colors will depend on what color door you choose. here's the yam color w/your siding. I left the pink/gray foilage, but the bright greens/whites and oranges/yellows would look better in your flower bed....See MoreRelated Professionals
