Need help choosing paint color for kitchen

Hi, After reading this forum for months, I recently updated my kitchen with new cabinets (cherry cinnamon), granite countertops (butterfly cream), and travertine subway tile backsplash (beige). I'm ready to paint and can't seem to choose a color. The color of the dining room which you can barely see on the left side of the photo, is Benjamin Moore Van Deusen Blue, and the adjoining hallway color is Shelburne Buff. Thanks so much!

I'd try a softer gray/blue for the kitchen to coordinate with the stronger blue nearby. I don't have a specific color, but I bet others will here ;)

I like the blue that's in the dining room. If you want something creamier and not in the blue family, I love Sherwin Williams Ivoire. We used it in our two story foyer. I'm not familiar with your granite but it sounds like the Ivorie would coordinate with it.

You know, I never considered white, probably because I have color everywhere. That is something to consider. I'm not sure about the green ceiling though. Of course I've never had color on my ceiling before. I appreciate your suggestions. And just when I thought I had it figured out.

Here's how it might work. Pick an inspiration...in this case the fabric...which works with a turquoise island. From the fabric pick a wall color, a ceiling color and the turquoise you want for the island. You can then use the colors in the rest of the palette to bring all your rooms together...maybe use the lighter palette in the LR, the medium colors in the dining area...keep the chairs in the yellow green tones and maybe select the gold tone or the deeper taupe to use on the pew fabric. I'd use the same fabric for the drapes in the dining area as I did in the kitchen. I'd select a more formal fabric though for the LR. I'd probably pick the soft beige for the LR walls. If you don't like this fabric or this color way, that's ok...it's just an example of how this could work for you.

Use the counter top to inform the backs plash color. For example, pull one of the grays from the counter top and shop for solid color, simple glass bricks. Can either install them stacked (more modern) or traditional offset pattern. Once you have the tile chosen, then you can focus on paint colors to coordinate.

Take one of your sofa cushions to the Sherwin Williams store. They have a display with different kinds of lights. Use those lights (the ones most similar to your home) to help you pick color samples that are compatible with your sectional. Then get some sample size paints mixed up. Paint foamcore from the dollar store with the samples. Move them around the rooms, and see which you prefer at different times of day. You don’t want to go through this again!

Thanks for the paint color ideas. I will look at all suggestions. I think I have seen Ivoire -sounds very familiar. I appreciate your input!

I ditto giving SW Ivoire or Blonde a try. A very lovely model home I saw (listed at $800k) a couple of years ago had Blonde (or maybe it was Ivoire) as it's main color, but several rooms were blue (with ceiling in Ivoire in those rooms). I don't remember which SW shade it was, but it was a little bit lighter than your blue. I LOVED that home, and I'm not really a blue person. That kitchen had cherry cabs, dark granite, and Ivoire/Blonde walls. I chose to use Blonde in my kitchen with cherry cabs, too. Love it.
