Colors and curb appeal needed for Dutch Colonial

I would appreciate suggestions for improving the curb appeal of my Dutch Colonial. Any ideas?

We were recently hit by a hail storm so the roof, siding, and trim need to be replaced. All that would remain is the red/pink brick.

I am searching for an exterior color scheme that will make my house look less top heavy - to minimize the impact of the roof. In the winter, when the leaves have fallen, that roof gets pretty prominent.

Would you stay with a brown roof or choose another color? I am not too happy with the current brown color as it is a bit purplish in some lights whereas my brick is warmer. I have been considering gray but have a hard time visualizing.

The brick's mortar is gray with a slight green undertone.

Any other ideas for both large and small changes to this house would be appreciated! ie should I enlarge the trim around the windows? I am absolutely open to any criticism of the house as long as it would help improve things - so dont hold back!!

Thanks so much!

Jama
