My daughter's bedding is strikingly similar. We painted the walls navy. Trim and WTs are white and off white. The rug is just a very neutral oatmeal color which pretty much disappears with all the rest of the color in there.

How gorgeous! I love the bedding and the furniture. If she's wanting the bedroom to have more of a shabby chic feel, I would look for a paint color a couple of shades lighter than the comforter. If she's wanting more of a funky room, you could paint the walls pink and add some pink pillows and other accents. You could also use a deeper green similar to the color of the vase. I like the idea of a soft green myself, but it just depends on the look she's going for.

I would paint the walls a paler version of the green.

White curtains.

Then, an accent color for the pillows etc.

Tan, taupe or khaki might work. Even mauve. But I agree... what does your daughter think?

Dark plum-purple walls could be fun. Sometimes called eggplant or aubergine.

My favorite color combination is the green in your pretty bedding w/aqua. It's offers a happy and uplifting feeling when your surrounded by it, it's perfect with white as a complimentary color as well. I didn't have time to find the perfect aqua, but here is a quick sample of what it would look like with the white bedding:

I too am seeing a pale, soft aqua. There are several aqua accessories out there right now that could be used to tie everything together - rugs, fabric, etc. Or if you went with a paler shade of the green on the walls, you still could add aqua as an accent color and that would look great too! Love the comforter!

Another vote for aqua. Both of my girls (teen and pre-teen) has aqua and lime in their rooms which is a fun comb. I can also see a soft dusty pink in there as well, but what does your DD think?

That shade of green pairs very well with lavender. Or "gravender" would also work. Do a search on this forum for that word and you'll see several good paint suggestions.

How about showing various options to your daughter and let her decide. Maybe she could even help paint the room...painting is a good skill to know. That is a beautiful color of green. Ya never know...she might want to just go with white. :-)

My daughter recently re-did her bedroom with similar white-painted furniture (CL finds in 50's French Provincial and Hollywood Regency) and choosing the wall color was definitely an exercise!

She initially started by fairly bright colors like most of the posters above have suggested. But then we did some computer research. We pulled images off the internet of rooms she loved, then sorted through them discussing what it was about each one that appealed to her. It turned out that ALL of the rooms she responded to had white walls (like your photo of the bedding.) So we got a stack of Ben moore whites and off-whites, and she chose a beautiful white with just a touch of cool pink to it. it basically rads as white, but not quite so stark. The white walls have allowed the accessories and wall decorations -in darker colors- to be the stars.

That may not be the look your daughter's going for, but it might help to pull photos of rooms she likes off the web as inspiration, anyway.

Vampiressrn has a great suggestion about narrowing down some choices and teaching your daughter to paint. It truely is a life skill and she may enjoy it! Did anyone mention tangerine as an accent?
