What makes small bath feel larger? Shower tile to ceiling or no?

I'm remodeling a small 5 x 8 bathroom, with the typical layout which locates the tub/shower at the end of the room, opposite the door you enter. So, the view from the doorway is to the tub/shower wall.

I am planning on using subway tile around the room to chair rail/wainscot height, and in the shower/tub area as well. At first I thought I would only run the tile in the shower up to the showerhead height, to allow the wall paint color to wrap around the room up by the ceiling... thinking this would help elongate the room and make it feel bigger. Now I'm not so sure. Should I run the tile in that area all the way up to the ceiling?

Here are some images of it done both ways. The other elements in the room are: limestone-look floor tile. Grey/white quartzite slab (like marble) for the vanity on top of white-painted antique dresser vanity, and calacatta marble mosaic accent tiles in niches.

What do you think?
