Hanging a chandelier through a drop ceiling?

My contractor put up a drop ceiling in our entranceway/vestibule to replace an old nasty one that had a fluorescent fixture.

I have a nice (not very heavy) chandelier that I would like to have hung. The question is about how to get the electrical box to sit right above the drop ceiling tile from which the light will be hung. Is there some sort of bracket that might be available that would fit from the tracks or allow a box to be suspended?

I guess that the contractor could always build something with 2x4s from the ceiling joists to bring the electrical box to the top of the drop ceiling, but he wasn't sure if there was a better or safer/approved way.

He hadn't had to install such a figure through a drop ceiling before, so was trying to figure out of there was a standard method, specific parts to finish the job or to simply improvise.

The design of the chandelier requires a top plate to be mounted to the box and the chain hangs from the plate. To ensure the beauty of the light, it would not look good to mount the plate above the drop ceiling and have the chain pop through the ceiling tile.

Any advice?

Thanks,
