Thank you Loribee for the nice comments. I was also thinking that it might look best to use the same fabric for the bay window treatments as what is in the living room. I just want to get a few others input.

Yep, I would use the same panels in the kitchen and hang them the same way with the short rod on each side.

Thank you for the nice comments...I wonder if panels would look better on the baywindow in the kitchen or valances...If I hung panels, would I hang them just on each end of the window....As for the peacock pillows, I have 3 more of those as they were given to me by my sister and are supposed to be antique chintz fabric. If I used more than just the one on the sofa, would it look ok. If I made pillows out of the same fabric as the draperies, I wonder how it would look alongside the peacock pillows. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Oh that looks fabulous! That is almost the same color of paint I used in my hall and living room and I just love it. It looks pretty to me every single time I see it.

I think it depends on what you like better as far as panels vs valances. I used to use a lot of valances and now I'm going through a phase where I'm tired of them and really like the looks of panels alone. That's why I like the idea of just doing one panel on each side of your bay window.

Your room is fabulous. Those big rooms are often a decorating challenge and you really nailed it. Love the peacock pillows and would not mind seeing more, maybe one on your chair. I like the idea of valances in the kitchen, maybe hung higher than the moulding. I also think that panel above your French doors is screaming out for a mural/decorative art.
But, it is really well done. Look forward to seeing what you decide!

I certainly will consider some sort of art for above the french doors... I had not thought of that and I can now see that it would probably look great...Thanks everyone so very much.

Jaybird, so sorry that I am only now seeing your post...The fabric is Ardwick Burgandy, purchased from Warehouse Fabrics. It is very nice. I purchased it sight unseen and was so pleased when it arrived and especially when I saw the finished product of the draperies.

One last question for everyone. Does the fabric for the breakfast room bay window have to be the same fabric as the panels in the living room, or could I use a fabric with the same colors of burgandy, gold etc in a paisley design or another design of some sort? Thanks for your help..

I LOVE those draperies! They are absolutely perfect! I have come back to look at that picture quite a few times already.

I'm no expert, but I think a different but coordinating fabric for the breakfast area could work. Sometimes finding something that coordinates really well can be tricky, though. You don't want the fabric prints to compete too much, especially since the breakfast area is so visible from the living room.

Of course, the same fabric as your living room will look great too.

i probably wouldn't use the same fabric in the kitchen, but would find one that coordinated really well.
depending on what type of fabric the family room fabric is, i would perhaps bring it into the kitchen by making a runner or chair cushions with it. i personally wouldn't make fr pillows with it...too much sameness. i would put 2 of the peacock pillows on your couch!! they're awesome! swap out the solid burgandy...

busybee3, thanks for your support for a coordinating fabric also..I know it will be difficult, but I think I would really like a coordinating fabric more than the same fabric as the living room.. I think I am leaning toward some sort of nice valances hung on finials... Would you believe that I have already changed out the solid burgundy pillows for the peacock ones? I am pleased that I am getting good feedback on those pillows anyway, as I wasn't sure how they worked with my room.

I like the colors in the one you suggested but I think the print should be smaller or even maybe a solid beautiful fabric in burgandy would be gorgeous. Love, Love the peacock pillow!

You could find a solid color and perhaps use the panel fabric as a border all way around the valance. That way you are bringing that fabric into the kitchen without too much sameness. Do I see a dark green in that plaid? I would try to find a color like that. I recently saw a nice earthy dark green in Joanne's that might work. A valance hung from knobs would look beautiful on the bay window!

This is the look I was referring to in my previous post. The LR fabric could be the accent on a nice solid.

roseabbey and kmcg85, thank you for your comments. I am thinking that the fabric that I have hanging on the window now might be too busy.. I will look for some solid or small print burgandy, or kmcg85, your idea to accent the solid with the panel fabric sounds great as well..The color is actually a bronze color in the panel. I think it may be coming across on the screen as green...I will have to check out Joann's and see what they have there. Thanks once again.

I agree that the pattern should be smaller or solid, it seems that the main drapes in the living room should be the dominent pattern with the window treatments.
