Would/Can You Paint The Brick on These Steps

We are painting the exterior of our house in a week and I'm desperately trying to find a color and having a hard time because of the brick risers. Not sure what I was thinking years ago when I picked the color, but it is what it is. For paint colors, I've been leaning towards the gray/taupe colors, but would also consider a nice beige. The risers really seem to stand out(in a bad way). Would you paint them, and if so, is there anything I need to worry about in terms of the paint holding up.

And if you happen to have any color suggestions, I'm all ears. I think I have every swatch card from BM and SW sitting on my desk. I'm considering Revere Pewter, Edgecomb Gray, Decatur Buff(too gold?) Thanks!
