rewiring from, I think 220 3 phase to 220 single phase

My garage is wired for, I think 220 3 phase. The receptacle has two "slanted eye-like" slots at the top and one vertical slot at the bottom. The circuit box shows two 40 amp breakers.

I purchased a Miller 180 welder which has a (NEMA 6-50P) 230 VAC 60hz single phase plug.

I need to rewire this receptacle to work this welder. I am purchasing a (NEMA 6-50R) receptacle, or should I switch out both plug and receptacle to a twist lock?

My main concern is getting the wall wiring correct. I presume the two 40 amp breakers are OK as is? The receptacle box is within a foot of the breaker box.

thanks for any help
