Need help wiring a ceiling fan...

I'm trying to install a fan in a room that only has switched outlets.

The weird thing is that the switch in the room only contains a single romex line, with hot to one pole and neutral to the other.

This is, unfortunately, the only wire I can access from the attic without tapping a line running to another room.

Is there any easy way to tap the existing line or do I need to cut into my freshly painted walls? Or what's the philosophy on tapping a line running to another bedroom and connecting it within a J-box? (does locating that in the attic count as "accessible"?)

Thanks

Jim
