Oh, this is SO MUCH FUN. I received my exchange gift in the mail sometime yesterday. My husband and I left early in the morning to finish up our Christmas shopping before the big storm hit. Later in the evening, we were talking about how bad it was getting out and I went to the front porch to turn on the light and see what was happening outside...Lo & behold there was this HUGE BOX all covered with snow! I about jumped out of my skin trying to scramble that box inside...snow and all! My husband thought I was crazy....I haven't been this excited since I believed in Santa Claus!

Now the hard part...having to wait! I don't know if I can! But I will cuz that is the rule!

Thanks Jaynine. I have done quite a bit more searching of images and found some interesting threads about comfrey and how easily misidentified it is. It has been confused with Foxglove, Green Alkanet and now Borage. The good news is that I'm fine with it being Borage, but I'd still like to get some Comfrey since that is what I thought I got. Hey Christine, the canna lily seeds need to be nicked or filed to expose just a bit of the white or green inside. then you can plant them in pots, cups or the ground about an inch deep and water good the first time and then when the soil feels dry to the touch. I always put mine in a vice grip wrench and file on one spot until the black is worn away and the white or green is exposed. It only has to be a tiny spot. I hope this works out for you. Joel

Golden those all look great. The GPS 9057 looks like it will root very well the way you have it potted. On the topic of soaking cuttings. If your cuttings arrive and they look just fine then they don't really need to be soaked. Soaking them in plain water will not hurt them in any way so why not do it anyways. When I was suggesting to soak cuttings for longer and with the addition of a small amount of sugar it was specifically for very stressed cuttings. When I first started to import from Thailand the cuttings were spending 20 days in the mail and they looked terrible when they arrived. I had many cuttings that literally looked like paper, completely dried but still holding their leaves. I would soak these cuttings until they rehydrated and looked plump, as long as 24 hours. The addition of sugar was from an old orchid growing manual and was also used for very stressed imported bare root orchids. I agree that all of this is overkill for a cutting that is still looking fresh. Healthy cuttings only need moisture where you want roots to form, light, and good humidity. Mike

Yea I signed them. This is what they looked liked: And they were supposed to look like this: [ EDIT: ignore the red squiggly lines and the cursor mark between the 00's. I took screen shot of it in MS Word. :p ] I think the difference between them is the Jamaican Chocolate Habanero is they ripen faster "also 85+ days to mature", slightly smaller pods, more heat " about 450,000 SHU's "and more flavor to them. Versus the Chocolate Habanero which takes a little longer to ripen "also 100+ days to mature" little less heat "about 300,000 SHU's" and they are a little more sweet. I dont think its breaking any rules letting us know who sent it now that you got it. You just cant post a picture of it till the proper time!!!!

Thats awesome that you got yours. I still dont know if mine made it to its destination yet!!!

I am going to try and wait until New Year's Day to open my box....IF I CAN WAIT THAT LONG! It is now in my living room right next to the fireplace and it is killing me to wait. Everytime I go in there, I want to open it!

There is a return address. But don't want to give out real names here, so... guessing it is from TAMAR-422? She described the box perfectly when she posted that she sent it. Am I correct TAMAR-422?

My exchange gift is all boxed up and ready to mail. Think I will head to the post office tomorrow. Mine has a bit further to go and want to be sure it gets to it's rightful place in time.

Someone is gonna be sooo disappointed cuz mine will take forever!!!! I sure hope they think the wait was worth it! I showed it to Klinger and she LOVED it as much as I did!

I got my gift too! I am going to try to wait to open it...well, at least until my DD (savvychick) gets home from work today! LOL
I love their style and I'm sooo excited to see what's inside...

Hazie's right! 1st Poster needs to make a generic yet exciting title like "IT'S HERE! IT'S HERE!!!!" and we'll all dog pile on and add to that! LOL

Remember if you don't have a camara or quick access (because we are terribly impatient) ask for pics to be posted by the artist who made your gift. I think Rosey sent a reminder to get shots before you mailed it right?

Okey, y'all. Fess up! You probably opened yours too! I'm gonna tattle on SLOW...She opened hers first--on SUNDAY! Not telling who mine's from or what it is....you'll have to wait for the posting and photo! It was so carefully packaged and wrapped. When I opened it, my jaw dropped!--oh my goodness. The design, the colors, the precision..STUNNING! I stared at it for hours last evening. It came to the right house....I have a small collection....it was also MY choice of substrate for the exchange. You know who you are: from the bottom of my heart, I will treasure it! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!
