Little Table Done

I'll be giving this to my friend today, hope she likes it! I probably should have mosaiced the globe underneath that holds the light, but I ran out of time and matching glass. Does anyone else go thru "withdrawl" after finishing a project? I have the time off for holidays, planned to play,play,play, and just can't seem to get inspired to do a darn thing. I keep going into my craft room, looking at my stuff, waiting for inspiration........I'm sure it will come to me the day before I go back to work!!##??!!

Oh, sure calamity, just make me want to tear my path out and change it to look like that one, lol. That's really nice. Thanks for posting it. The pool demo contractor hands out photos of the pool with the poem written in it and thinks it's really funny. I went out with a can of spray paint the night before they started and found out that I'll never pass as a graffiti artist. Next, I found out that it was really hard to take a photo of the whole poem because the pool was L shaped. Duh! It rained for 6 solid hours here on Friday night. Sure glad I kept the pump. I started it up as soon as there was enough water to pump and left it on through the whole storm. The back yard is currently lower than the sidewalk, so the water has nowhere to go. The deck drains are also gone, so the slope now drains directly into the flat part of the yard. That will be fixed as the work continues. It's raining again today, but not nearly as much. Karen, everything is top notch!!! I'm not sure where to start, but love all your nutcrackers and the way you display them. So many beautifully decorated trees, wreaths and swags. It's great to see your pony collection again. Santa snuck in and was waving to me and made me smile! Gorgeous mantel. Love everything on it. The new WSanta is perfect with your other big one. That was a fantastic price for sure. Is that a Mark Roberts fairy santa? Yep, mom and dad r smiling at u. I was thinking I best get some bath decor done.haha Your the winner on that one. I haven't come across my flat back tree yet. Oh but I did find my pumpkin bowls when I went looking for my nutcracker napkins rings(which I didn't find). Makes one realize to much is not a good thing.Geez! DH told DD she had to keep everything we took up there this year to decorate with. The only things I will really miss are all my different silver trees when it's Snow Time decor in Jan. Oh, maybe with a little luck I'll find some on clearance this year.YEAH So happy you have decorated so much already. I could go on and on about your decor but your GOOD and hope you know it! Yeah, but don't try to file the edges of colored tiles; it chips the color. I use it mainly for the bottoms of tiles to file off that 'waffle' thing going on under there so they'll sit flat- especially if I don't need to 'float' them at all. And it comes in handy to file off the edges of backsplash sections after grouting.

If that's a learning project then sign me up for school! That is wonderful! I'm doing my first table right now and am struggling a bit, but it's coming along. I used plates, but also wanted to use stained glass so to get the thickness for them I'm using clear/white pieces then gluing them to the colored stain glass cut the same way, then placing them on the table. Think it will work? I've got all my pieces cut - just have to do the double gluing now.

Shirley it's gorgeous, I'm sure she'll love it. I also have the lack of inspiration you describe, sometimes if I just pick up a project and force myself to start it then before I know it I'm right into it. Hope you had a great Christmas,

That turned out beautiful. The colors look so rich. I always have loved red and the browns together. She will probably be overwhelmed when she sees it.

dITTO again that is such a gorgeous table. I dont think the globe not being done distracts at all from the beauty of the table. You did such a great job. I love the use of the glass globs on there too!!

The table is beautiful - she's lucky to have a friend like you!

I am also off of work and looking for projects to speak to me. While waiting, I spent several days sorting glass, cleaning my workroom, organizing my supplies and taking inventory of completed projects in 2007. Late yesterday inspiration stuck and I've been working like a whirlwind since so don't give up hope!

I am in a slump also....not inspired to do anything. I wandered out to my shed the day after Christmas, turned the heat up and lights on, and I haven't had the energy or drive to wander back out there......zzzzzz

( yes, I feel the slump too.. kind of like a separation anxiety like a lost limb..but luckily we are like starfish and will just grow another one) !

That is so very awesome, wow! Love it!

I think the reason for uninspiration is from going full force to get christmas presents ready and so focused on that. Now all done without a major focus and back to making the things WE like :D I am consoling myself by buying supplies and tools for the inevitable burst of creativity that will arrive very soon (or else!)

I am very partial to anything done in reds. I would trade my right arm for that table! It is beautiful and would look wonderful in my house! How long did it take you? Did you follow a pattern? Do you seal your projects when finished?

O my Gosh that is so pretty.I love it .
I am working on my play room It was an garage I turned to a play room for me and the Gb the fioor was a mess so I panted it just before christmas .I did not like the color so I am re doing it .

Thanks soooo much for the compliments!! She LOVED the table!! We spent a couple hours moving things around, trying it here and there, finally settled on a nice corner spot. It was hard to part with it but I just don't have the room for anything else in my living room. It's gone to a good home with a good owner, I think it will be happy there,hehe!
Becky: I have no idea how long it took, only the middle parts were from a pattern, the rest just happened. I didn't seal it, maybe I should have?

I think it looks great as is, so I don't think it's missing anything by not having the globe done. What a lucky friend you have! I'm glad that she appreciated it and recognized it for the fine gift it is.
