I purchased the lights through AD Cola in Natick, MA. (website www.adcola.com). ; They ordered them and had them drop shipped directly to me at a bit of additional cost, but we were under the wire and needed them quickly. Hudson Valley Edison collection in old bronze (semi-flush mount)- Adjustable Monopoint Pendant by Hudson Valley. I did order different glass shades. The semi flush mount over sink is 18-OB-R08, the pendants are 9341-OB the glass shades are GS-00560-CR. From the wall the stove is on to the china hutch wall is 20ft from the kitchen sink wall to the basement stair wall is 12 1/2 feet. Did you click on the above photo's? RM :( I'm so sorry to read your son is still challenged. And more so to see you're on the horrific "diagnostic" road trip literally. I wish there was something that could be done to blow that danged road up....I don't miss it and hate hearing anyone is traveling it. I can only hope you have a short trip! Virtual hugs in the biggest of ways hun! I have only this advice, learned in year three of that road....carry a big purse and a wine opener. You'll be a friend to many a parent if you lock the door to the parent room and crack open a bottle quietly :) Screw tops can be your friends as well. (And for those horrified that one would drink in a hospital...you haven't spent months in one I guarantee). A quiet glass of wine at 11 when the kids are finally asleep and it's marginally quiet (only the sickest kids are making noise that never goes away, soft cries of pain...that glass of wine alone in the dark while you thank god that's not your child every so often is a peace you don't understand). Enough of that....back to the chickens! hm here's a photo of just the backsplash uninstalled. We framed it in nordic black antique granite to make it fit the space it's in (Joe the tile guy rocked!) So the funny thing is....I've had to move (because of my son's health we had to leave alaska) so we have a new house and two kitchens to remodel/build LOL So I get to start planning all over again :) I can't wait to start from the beginning all over again....(which makes you wonder if I do crack does it not? I just found this post, and hope it's not too late to leave a comment and get an answer to a question. First, I adore your wonderful kitchen...it's truly a "heart of the home" kind of room. The warm wood countertops are really beautiful, and something I will consider when we re-do ours. Right now, we are looking for a refrigerator that will blend with our Wedgewood 40" stove, and are considering the Fisher Paykel. Since you have one, can you tell me if you like it. We are looking at the model that has the pull out freezer, rather than the swing door, and I think its slightly larger, but basically the same in other respects. We have a four bedroom house, over 2300 square ft., but the kitchen is a galley, about 20 ft long, with 62" of floor space between each side. We have a 36" French door refrigerator right now, but I would like to replace it with one that is 33" so I can gain a couple of inches to the right, where we have only about 12 inches of counter between the fridge and the sink. The alternative to what we have would be either the Fisher Paykel, which is narrower and almost counter depth, or another brand, like Maytag, etc., that is 33" but also 33" in depth....the reason to go to that one is the added interior space. Is the 17.5 cu. ft. in the Fisher Paykel enough? There are only 3 of us at home, but some of my friends feel that it's too small for the size of house we have. Are you happy with the size...does it hold enough...or would you go larger if you were to do it again? Thanks for any opinion or advice...we need to buy something within the next two weeks!

Here are a few more specifics: Paint colors: Family room (behind mantle): Benjamin Moore Shaker Beige Dining room: BM Woodlawn Blue Kitchen: BM Porcelain Ivory (there is very little paint in the kitchen itself: just around the window and the edge where the tile ends at the left of the range wall.) A note about the Woodlawn Blue: We had the dining room painted this color before we moved in (before the renovation). After we opened the walls and I realized that the dining room now had to "go" more with the rest of the house, I questioned whether the blue would work, given that most of our rugs are red and especially given that I fell in love with the green tile for the backsplash. We decided to keep the blue and, for the most part, I think it works, though I wouldn't have chosen it if I had started from scratch with colors. It is sort of a chameleon color -- it's definitely blue, but takes on a greenish or greyish tone depending on the light. I have also used it in a bathroom and love it there too. The color of the Rixi tile is "Agata". It's green (sort of a greyish, beigish green) with a crackle finish. The edges of the tile have a bit of brown. It's really hard to get a good picture of it, but here's a close-up: You can tell that it's darker around the edges. The sample that I had was much browner on the edges... this one less so. Prill: you asked whether the color is even. I would say that there is little variation across the tiles, but on each tile there is definitely a difference between the base color and the color around the edges. On the wall, it has a pretty uniform look. JB1176: The island doesn't have a seam. It just happened that the granite I chose (one of 3 samples at my kitchen designer's showroom) came in a long enough slab. Honestly, I never even saw my granite until the day is was installed. I knew I wanted a black granite (well, actually I REALLY wanted soapstone, but my husband nixed it!) with a matte finish. My KD had three samples in her showroom: honed absolute black, which got too fingerprint-y for me, another black that the granite guy said didn't come long enough for my island, and the one that ended up choosing and loving. The installer did a great job. I only have one seam in the entire kitchen, a few feet to the left of the sink. Fran1523: I was chuckling at your comment because I wanted cup pulls and my husband was firm on getting something really simple, and now that they are in I agree with him 100%. Plus, at $1.49 a piece, they were a bargain!
