Proud SM moment!

Since you often hear about A__'s troubles, or my struggles, I want to share a happy moment.

A__ had his first soccer game of the season last night, and he played REALLY well! They won and he scored a goal, but more importantly, he played hard, he thought ahead in his plays, he was encouraging to other players and he made some great passes. So whether they had won or lost, I would have been very proud of how well he played!

When he was done high-fiving his teammates after his goal, he looked for me in the stands and gave me a big grin with a thumbs up. I was happy he scored, but even happier that he shared his joy with me. (FDH was working last night, so I took him to his game)

After his game, he launched at me with a big sweaty hug and said he was so happy that I got to see him score a goal.

Those sorts of hugs make the Sfamily headaches worth it.

And I'm sure you told him about all of the wonderful skills you saw him using -- The watching, thinking, passing...

Tiffy, I think Circle Ks and the like could be an excellent untapped resource for UCG. I guess it would depend on the management of each individual store as to whether they would let someone from the general public have their trash, since they don't have a corporate policy like Starbucks. But they sure do make and sell a lot of coffee. I think winter is going to be prime time for composting here in the desert, since it is easier to keep the piles moist, and it never freezes for long. --Maureen

Way to go, Kristi! I wish I could help you locate a line drawing of an amaryllis... might I suggest printing out a photo from online, and then tracing the lines you want to work with? If you have Microsoft Office with Publisher, you can check out their clipart... I use clipart all the time because I can't draw to save my life! I could email you some clipart if you'd like... let me know! I wish you luck! And I can't wait to read your novel! Please say you'll publish it, at least to forum members! :-)

The girl won't eat veggies, he won't touch meat. They eat a lot of enchiladas & burritos. Those are her real eyelashes, they are to-die-for!! He's the funniest, quirkiest guy, and he loves here tremendously. He works in a buttoned up profession (he's a pharmacist), she's got full sleeve tattoos and piercings. But they are two peas in a pod. I love them both and can't wait for October 24th!!

I added some squats to strengthen the lower back and glutes (since they need help too). Why do all that front work if you will hurt your back? My back is holding up well. So far, the "routine" takes about 10 minutes. Sit ups are the worst thing for your back. Crunches are lifting your upper body (shoulders) off the ground using your abs. Leg raises are getting to be the hard part because I'm tall with long legs. Jasdip, all that blood flowing keeps my mind going! ;)

That's so wonderful!!

Things like that do make a the struggles worthwhile, but most of all I think it must be gratifying to see A__ doing so well :0)
