Aluminum clad, Fiberglass(et al) vs Vinyl longevity

I am a bit confused. Based on info from other postings, fiberglass, (ultrex and fibrex),is stronger material and thus, the assumption is that they will last longer than vinyl. However, in one posting it stated that these windows were the ones now being replaced because they were no longer functional. If this is so, what gives? Are these windows mechanically fastened? Why do these windows break down faster than a vinyl one. The warrantees (20/10 yrs) reflects the company's knowledge of the longevity of their fiberglass product. Can the window experts explain this?
