Mish Mash

I have been trying to paint(I'm hopeless!!) a sandwich sign for the driveway, and here is my mishmash of stuff going on with the tp tower. I'm using leftovers and stuff that I don't have enough of, to do a big project. Klinger and I scored some stainless steel and other bits of tile, but just a few pcs of each so Ta-Da! It's going on my DD tp tower. I am ging to put this baby on wheels as it is gonna be such a monster!!! Liking this "hot pepper" color paint so much that I think once the tp tower is done with black grout, it's REALLY going to POP!!ha! DD will like it!

I have a bookmark folder called "Forums" that has most, but not all. I use the master list for lesser visited forums. I see they have a search function there now that wasn't there on Friday, so maybe...now, about that new window opening and having to pick a forum for ones post... tj

By "gold" you are referring to the shiny greenish brass of the eighties. To which you have added other finishes. At some point you will sell the house. Consult a designer for a few hours, and proceed cautiously. My guess is there may be other issues to consider. Don't start throwing money at "potential resale" without considering the potential of wasting a lot of money : )

One way is to paint most of the wood furniture the same color. Let’s say you paint all the furniture off white in a satin finish. Except the coffee table. Your daughter choses a rug for under it and then paints the coffee table something unexpected. Let me see if I can find examples. Pillow fabric. The coffee table/rug become the focal point and the mismatched furniture blends in.

What does the rest of the room look like? What’s across from the sofa? Important because it will determine what size rug you need. Assume you want to layer a larger rug on top of the wall-to-wall carpeting? There are lots of rugs with blends of grays and beiges and another color - blue for example. Start looking at rugs first. (Even order a sample or a 2 x 3 to check before committing, and then return and get the size you need.). Once you have your rug determined, then worry about pillows that will pick up the accent color(s) from the rug. You mentioned concern about what would go with the furniture wood? We can really only see the coffee table. Could you replace the coffee table?

Am happy with the door but I think I"m loosing it on the sides....now I'm thinking green grout or blue...

Jane, it looks awesome.I love all the bright colors, and your sign rocks too.I can't beleive you've got so much done. Jeepers, all I've been doing is using my new steam cleaner and cleaning stuff.

Here it is done except for wheels, doorknob, and top finial glued on and of course grout! heh heh, other than that, I'm practically done!! lol!

It certainly looks Slow inspired eh? I am happy with it and like the way it is different on each side, that's why I want it on wheels so it can be turned. Some people take reading material to the Biffy, But this is Eye Candy!!! heh heh!!! DH likes it and is happy to be a part of it!

Janey, your TP looks great! Definitely eye candy! I think the dark grout will make it pop. I love the top orange tiles (plates?). What is the center disk on the top?

I love the green paint. It really looks nice enough without grout. Me, I am partial to black grout to bring out the colors. What a tower! If my room wasn't so small, I'd make one for storage.

Girlie: This is another one that is sooooooo beautiful I don't have words for. Wish I could find some of those metal tiles. Those are great additions.

Talk about eye-popping! Can't believe this is the "leftovers" from your stash!! Looks like you purposely bought it all to go together! Yep, black (or dark charcoal) grout will really set the colors spinning even more!

I have seen the metal tiles on wholesalersusainc.com but they arent cheap!!!

Jane- I came back for another look and realized I didnt see the front picture of it. Wow, that is just so cool with those spades, what are they?

Thanks Everyone! The top disk is from a set of glass coasters(got 3 left), and did you notice how much these two projects overlapped? I used the ceramic spades as a template for my arrows on the signs I made! Those black ceramic spades are what made me feel "Slow" inspired! When I bought em, (ts find) I wasn't sure how I would use em cuz I don't think they would do well outside and I'm mostly thinking of outside projects. 5 o'clock here and DH isn't home till 8pm sooo...off to grout!

CHICKEE - I checked out that website, and found the metal-covered glass tiles. QUITE expensive. I had seen metal tiles in a beautiful piece in the gallery where ROSIE has her mosaics, and still want to find some, but don't want to pay that much for them. Anyone else found metal tiles? Anxiously awaiting pics of the TP tower grouted, CALAM.
