12 Foot Doorwall - Need Votes on Design
Comments (8)Thanks LoLauren & Maire -- you folks got me thinking. I am concerned with the look of the additional sashes with a 4-panel as I'm used to the sashes where they are now. Also, the opening I have now is suitable for furniture moving. MMMmm. See, now I have no screen at all -- so this door is always closed. I'm desperate for air flow as we have no central air. Maybe I'm overcompensating wanting such a large opening because I've had to live with this thing closed for a year. And, in the Winter -- I close these heavy weighted plastic-backed god-awful curtains to stop the draft. Alright -- its Saturday morning at 6am -- I'm taking the curtains down NOW and going to the Door Store as soon as they open. I'm 90% sure the 3-Panel will be purchased. Thanks for the appearance vote in that direction Maire! And, thanks for mentioning the fussing with the lock LoLauren -- while that wouldn't be a problem ... you got me thinking about having two screens closing in the middle ... and I have two dogs ... two screens for them to ruin versus one. :)...See MoreSunrise sliding door vs Provia Sliding door vs Provia French door
Comments (4)I personally think the Sunrise slider is nicer than that the Provia in this comparison. The Hinged patio or French equivalent of the Provia door would be more expensive as a standard when compared to their slider variant. Most folks have the idea that the French is a more premium door than a slider but the slider works better for most people because it does not encroach into the roof vs. and Inswing French and it has a screen as a standard whereas an Oustswing will not....See MoreChoosing a sliding patio door
Comments (5)I forgot, I did get a quote on the Andersen 200 Slider---over $1000 more than anything else. Led me to rule it out, although could probably find a lower price. Thank you, Gracie!...See MorePatio Door Replacement Norandex or Sunrise?
Comments (6)I think the forester is basically the regular Okna door but with hbutt joined welds. Norenndax is a abc label now . Probably a pretty small company if they are buying through abc and nothing to write home about. Sunrise is a nice door. Okna is also nice. Avoid jeldwen. Marvin infinity is nice but the price is high and they can be air leakers. The price for the Provia may be on the high side as well especially for a general contractor . I’d focus on Sunrise or Okna....See MoreRelated Professionals
