This has been a nightmare. I didn't even mention the splintered outlet hole in an obvious location they accidentally cut in our floor-to-ceiling pantry cabinet with pullouts that they tried to cover by gluing over a skin, which unglued almost right away and is flopping loose inside. I know it would have cost them, but those kind of mistakes should require a rebuild of the box, no? Ugh.

It doesn't look off in the photos but it's hard to see color nuances when no one uses flash photography anymore. Do the speckles in the quartz match the vanity color so there's at least that tie-in? What would you have chosen instead? A quartz with taupe undertones so your counter, cabinet, and floor is all the same boring tone? If it really bothers you, I'd think about updating the flooring to the more modern vibe of the vanity. The speckled quartzes need a busier, patterned floor tile. A tile with a little white to reference the counter would make the counter choice seem purposeful.

We had a Thermador dishwasher with custom panel at our last house and loved it! We'd open the DW after the cycle to help air-dry the dishes too, and you could see the steam coming off but there were never any warping issues. Maybe it depends on the quality of the panel's wood? It was next to the fridge though, so sometimes we'd bang the slightly ajar door with the fridge door and the alignment became off-kilter (I was able to adjust that on my own with some elbow grease though!) so probably don't place it next to the fridge LOL. In our new house, we are planning to buy a Bosch DW with custom panel. Good luck!

You can also save a bit of money, by painting the backsplash. I think, everything white, is a bit too much. You can get a sample of the blue you like, and put it on poster paper and tape that over the lower cabinet, to see how you like it. White on the top would be fine. If you are going to do them yourselfs, preparation is very important. Clean them, with a very good cleaner. Sand them, if any nicks, or dents, or holes, then fill those, and sand again. Wipe them down really well, and use a top quality sealing bonding type primer on the cabinets. Follow the directions on the can for dry time, paint coating time, and if that primer needs a very light sanding. Then wipe them down again, and start painting. Some can be done with a small foam (white) roller that says, for cabinets on it. Also, make sure the paint you are putting on, is an actual cabinet paint. It will take 2 to three coats. Follow the directions on the can for drying time, before recoating. Let sit a couple of days, before trying to hang the cabinets, and like above, do not close them, for 30 days. Primer the backsplash with sealing bonding primer. Use decent quality satin or semi gloss paint to paint them. Make sure they are squeaky clean, before doing anything to them. Trim, could be satin or semi gloss white. A nice light color on the walls and you will have a fresh clean kitchen. Do not rush any of these steps. Take your time, and do it right. It is time consuming to paint cabinets, and do a decent job. There are NO shortcuts.
