Ralph Lauren on Oprah Weds
Comments (4)Thanks for the notice. I'll set my DVR for this. Since I don't watch Oprah, I would have missed the interview without your post. I find Ralph Lauren fascinating. I read a biography about him that was somewhat negative, but I don't think anyone can argue that he has made an indelible stamp or maybe even created the practice of lifestyle marketing....See MoreRalph Lauren is back at Home Depot
Comments (10)Found this from remodelingguy.net. No date on the piece though, but I find the Martha/Ralph info interesting. Who Makes Ralph Lauren Paint? IâÂÂm a huge fan of Ralph Lauren Paint and I was pretty well crushed when they stopped selling it at Home Depot. IâÂÂm really still not over it. But there is good news, or so IâÂÂm told. You can still buy it at ICI Paint Stores. Who Makes Ralph Lauren Paint? Ralph Lauren Paints is manufactured by AkzoNobel, an large international company whose roots can be traced back almost 400 years to Sweden. They recently purchased ICI, which was the original manufacturer. There are still ICI Paint Stores in many areas, but trying to find one on the website is a task, to say the least. I was told by an AkzoNobel sales rep who I cornered in Home Depot, that Ralph Lauren Paint is still available in ICI stores. If you buy some, please let me know so I can breathe easy! Incidentally, AkzoNobel also manufactures Martha Stewart Living Paints, which replaced Ralph Lauren on Home Depot Shelves. IâÂÂve never tried MarthaâÂÂs paint, but IâÂÂm sure itâÂÂs great. On an interesting note, I was surprised to hear that Ralph Lauren himself actually took an interest in the paint business. It wasnâÂÂt just a branding thing, for what itâÂÂs worth....See MoreNew Ralph Lauren Tartan Bedding Here (Update on Master)
Comments (28)Beautiful choices, beautiful room. Lucky you have a RL Home store so close and got such great deals. BTW, I think I'd hang the hunting print near the chair. Don't blame you for not wanting to get rid of the boat oil, but that space just begs for the hunt print. But maybe it needs a wider frame? It's hard to tell in the photo just how it might fit in the space....See MoreRalph Lauren River Rock paint?
Comments (5)I used it in our other house about 10 yrs ago. I found it to be difficult to get even coverage, but I was painting a large room. Coverage was not nearly what stated on the can, and paint debt (HD) agreed, thus it became a very expensive project for our bedroom. But, it looked fabulous! I think it would work on your rangehood. It is not scrub able, so I would be concerned with the grease and normal gunk that gets on hoods from cooking. Consider a satin finish over the paint when completed. I agree a normal size rollor is not only to large, but the nap will suck up way too much paint. Use a radiator roller. They are skinny, and vary in length. I ended up spongeing over the entire room as my finish coat to get an even - uneven stone look. The paint actual has grit like sand in it. Again, my room came out great looking; I would never use it again on a large area because of the expense and poor coverage. I think it will look great on your hood. Definitely prep and prime in the base color of the "background color" in the shade you choose....See Moremtnrdredux_gw
