Forcing his hand

Argh, I could just scream right now...

In DH's divorce decree BM is supposed to have four weeks of visitation over the summer. Well, next week is the last week before school starts and she's only used 1. I called her last week (she goes through these phases where she thinks we're BFF then she hates me etc...) well after endouring three 45 minute phonecalls she had triple confirmed yes, she wants them for that last week before school. Will get them tonight and bring them back next Sunday. DH called to ask her what time she was picking them up tonight and she said 'What are you talking about?' and is acting like she has absolutely NO CLUE we ever discussed this!! So now she's telling them she can't see them at all because she 'has to work'.

My thoughts are this: 1 - WE pay for daycare for SS7 why she can't drop him off there on her way to work is beyond me, its paid for already and we have to do it every day

2 - Older SS watches himself

In the past when she says this it will go one of two ways either DH will chew her butt about spending time with her kids and she'll follow through and do it or he'll say whatever and she'll skip out on them once again. I'm all for him telling her TS you agreed to spend time with them, they're expecting you - make it work.

He complains that he shouldn't 'have' to get after her to spend time with them, but my theory is they should have a relationship with both parents right? I know he's not responsible for their relationship with their mother, but if his making her 'toe the line' prevents their hurt feelings its worth it right?

DH's other theory (and this would be a whole different can of worms) was she was that drunk everytime I talked to her so she really doesn't remember. She wasn't slurring - but she did ramble quit a bit (but everytime I've talked to her she does that). So I'm not sure. I've heard of alcoholics that can function that intoxicated on a regular basis but usually there is SOME verbal queues on it...
