Actually, I live surfing and finding stuff I'll never have but think is cool anyway.

Thanks again all: Boa is doing much better. She is eating like a horse, but still doesn't want to be left alone. I can't believe the difference in her since I stopped the antibiotics. She demands food now, and her catmilk. Her and Bear got into their first fisticuffs in a long time when I was taking too long to get the food in the dish. She got a huge dish of whipped cream yesterday (her favorite) and didn't leave a smidgen in the bowl for Apache to finish. She is back on the tapazole now for the hyperthyroidism and doesn't even know it's in her food. I am breathing a sigh of relief. I know nothing can live forever, but I can hope. Think she will be with us for a while longer. Praise God for answering my prayers. Jenny

Hi Lilyfinch, Yes that Mexican Shell Flower is a sight to see,..it does multiply to more than double the following season,..they are by no means a small bloom as my smallest are 4 inches wide and the large ones 6 inches,..i collected the seeds last year and have seedlings just now as well as the mature plants,..the only drawback is that the bloom only lasts for a day however next morning there will be more blooms,..i have red,..yellow and pink just now but they have produced cross blooms. Keep daydreaming about where you will plant your new beauties,..gardeners dream a lot,..smile. =============================================== Hi midnightsmum, Ah so you were also smitten with the Mexican Shell Flower,..now you can understand my longing to have some. I will check my seed collection for yourself and Lilyfinch,..i am sure i have some left as i gave away quite a good few at the start of Spring. About your Hollyhocks,..it is said they grow in almost any soil,..i grow them myself from seeds and sow the seeds outside in late Autumn just before the frost arrives,..they do thrive on moist rich soil and a sunny location,..i also use Miracle Grow and a must is to spray the leaves with fungicide to prevent hollyhock rust which is airborne,..i will keep my fingers crossed for you with your Butterfly Bush. Oh gosh, Lucky, those are so pretty! I really like how you have them displayed on the silver tray, too. The prices for those tea cups & saucers is wonderful. I don't recall ever seeing them before but love the pattern. I live in a rural area, too. I'm about a half an hour north of Albuquerque and about 40 minutes south of Santa Fe. so everything is a drive for me. But, both cities do have tons of great shopping, etc., so I can't complain. I was born and raised in the suburbs in Michigan, and thought I'd never want to live in the country. It took me a while to get used to all the quiet and open space, but now I wouldn't change it at all! Jane, I think you WOULD have a great business doing that! I've never been to NYC and, although I'm anxious to go someday soon, I'm petrified at the thought of trying to get around in such a huge, crowded city! And, I used to work in downtown Detroit, so I am (was) used to large cities. I've told DH that when we do go, I want to hire a private guide to show us around . . . and so we don't get lost! Truly, the one thing in my home I can't live without...the people who live in it with me!!;-) I know that was sappy, but I couldn't resist. Now honestly, I LOVE my laundry room. Two big windows looking out to the woods, my sound system, cable hookup, integrated ironing board, tons of folding space....can you tell where I spend a great deal of my time? Oh, the other place I spend my time is the kitchen, but right now the laundry room is my favorite. Hopefully as the children grow up that will no longer be my favorite. Amy

Remember the cone of silence from Get Smart? Well I wish I had one of those when the kids start bickering! I could lock them away in it till they work things out! Ahh for peace and quiet!

That would work too, but I think I would enjoy watching them work it out! I have always told them I was going to lock them in a room until they worked it out. Or another saying is 'you must love each other so much you just can't stop talking to one another' I have DS who is 19 and DD who is 15. They are better, but still...

A friend of mine made her bickering children hold hands and sing "Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with meeeeee..." again, and again, and again. They loathed this so much that they became very highly motivated to avoid fighting in front of Mom. I've always found this hilarious. But I invariably forget to implement it when mine are fighting!

On long car trips my husband and I always wished that we could put up soundproof privacy glass between the front and back seats, like in a limo.

Of course I would LOVE to have a secret door or passage in my house. However, squeezing one into a 1425 sq.ft. house would be quite a challenge.
