Can you describe the wall color and the accent tile color? On my monitor the accent tile looks green and the walls look gray.....

I assume you want a permanent cover for the window but one that will let light in but WONT allow neighbors to see your shadows when you are in there at night with the light on? Or could you cover just the bottom half and leave the top half open?

My first thought is a pretty soft floral fabric with the colors of your accent tile and wall.

What a gorgeous room and a lovely setting! I am probably no help with fabric, but when I am looking for inspiration I sometries try the coordinated fabric at smith and noble. I think bench would look nice if you have the room when you are in the room (looks like you would) and would use it. Do you have art picked out? that might help with the fabric selection too.

Beautiful room! Since you have a large window needing privacy, I suggest two tiered plantation shutters.

For the long wall, what about a wardrobe or an antique/vintage/painted chest of drawers to hold towels and such? You can put a grouping of pictures above it.

Beautiful bath!! What kind of curtains are you thinking about? I can picture anything long and drapey (that's a word right?) because it would be in or on the tub. I can picture a roman shade.

What a beautiful bathroom and a beautiful view too! I, too, have a weakness for sparkly things and I am wondering where you got your chandelier and your mirrors. I like complete privacy in the tub, so I would agree with the person who suggested some kind of plantation shutter. Would that work with the decor in the rest of your house? Lovely bathroom! I would put up a simple roman blind over the tub. Something in soft color(s) found elsewhere in your bathroom: white, pale blue, gray, etc. Maybe something like this Pottery Barn roman blind.

Your bathroom is so beautiful and luxurious I would follow thru with a formal-like window treatment. An Austrian panel is the first thing that comes to mind. Here's a link.

I would love to see Hunter Douglas Duette in that window. And you might as well do the room darkening version so you don't see any shadows through them when open. You can get them motorized so you don't have to be reaching over the tub to open and close them.

Why do you say that if you put a bench on the right artwork would be too high? I say just hang the artwork like you normally would and put the bench there. Currently I am in love with this etagere from Ballard, or you could even look into one with chrome & glass, maybe RH has one that would fit your space perfectly.

I would put a bench on the right wall, a towel bar over it and then the picture above won't seem to float so much. Maybe hang picture(s) and put some candle sconces on either side...with scented candles inside.

The austrian shade suggestion is nice.

Otherwise I would consider getting a delia shade which would provide light, privacy and decoration

I would also consider putting something over the toilet...it gives men something to look at while they're standing there and it's another opportunity to add softness to a room that is necessarily full of hard surfaces.

Good point about towels, AnnieDeighnaugh. I like the softness that wall hung towels can provide in a bathroom. I personally like to have plenty of towel hanging room, and so I like to stack two towel bars on top of each other for a virtual wall of towels. I would probably put them directly across from the toilet.

Personally, I don't dare have something above the toilet for males to look at. I end up cleaning up enough splashes in my house that I'm hoping they're focused on the toilet rather than the wall. Sorry if that's too graphic.

I like natural light coming into the bathroom. I think something that you can open from the top, as well as the bottom would be great. If you get something that only opens from the bottom, you'll likely keep it closed all the time -

I like the ideas mentioned above. I think something else to finish the space would be a nice area rug. Something to ground the space and bring in some warmth.

Is the window operable?
If not, I would consider a tension rod mounted inside the window frame both top and bottom.

The a lined linen panel, scrunched every so slightly on the rod, with a criss-cross pattern sewn onto the fabric in grosgrain or velvet ribbon, to mimic the art nueveaux criss cross in the sconces.

jakefield Thanks for asking. I never did a bathroom reveal (which I feel a little guilty about) because I never figured out how to post multiple photos. Would it be crazy to post more photos individually like I did here?

I obsessed over the mirrors because I was concerned about a finish so close to the shiny chrome light fixtures. I really wanted to drop pendants, but I'm not very tall and my husband is over 6' so I went for function over form and these lights offer a very even, flattering light. After searching Kirklands, (thinking I would silver leaf them), RH, and ordering custom made from www.pictureframes.com, I decided to call a local glass fabricator. These are 28 x 44 and cost $105 each. They have picture frame hooks on the back. Mine were made with a bevelled border. The glass people said customers often buy pictures at TJ Maxx, remove the picture, and replace it with a mirror. It's pretty inexpensive to do.

You might also like the "Hovan" Mirror from Horchow. I have that in my powder room and just love it. google it, lots of other sites have it as well, and it's always on sale someplace. Let me know what you think.

The fixture over the tub had to meet height regulations, and I purchased this as a semi-flush mount. This model also converted to a hanging fixture, and I only used a few links since the ceiling was high enough to allow it to be hung that way. joaniepoanie the color is BM Glass Slipper, more blue than gray but very soft. The accent tiles are an opalescent translucent, and while they are not as green as they look in the photo, they can look a little green in some light. I think you're right about needing something soft...

oakleyok I don't know anything about plantation shutters. When you say two tiered do you mean so the top will open like french doors, and the bottom stay closed for privacy? The idea of a wardrobe or chest is a good one too. There's no linen closet so I could sure use the extra space.

I never thought of going with a higher piece in the bath, but I think it could use the height. That Ballard piece could be just the thing...

Annie you are so observant! So far I've just been hanging the towels on the shower door towel bar, but that 's a great idea! "Floating" is the perfect description, and the bars would create an anchor and a nice vignette. I could even still fit another piece like a small chest or the etagere there. I'm going on Etsy and Ebay to see if I can find some towel bars with crystal.

I have never seen those Delia shades before. They are remarkable! I'm not sure if they will offer enough privacy for the bathroom (I emailed them and await a response) but I will sure remember these for my kitchen. I love the Tulip Arabesque. Stunning! You have also been a great inspiration. I have no idea how you managed it all without being overwhelmed! I appreciate your help here and all you have taught about color palettes...

A tension rod would definitely work, the window is inoperable and pretty deep.

So it's one panel covering the whole window, and the ribbons are sewn onto the panel? Or two panels criss-crossed on the rods?

Hmmm...I wonder if there is any silver ribbon that would have a kind of reflective, modern look but not look tacky... I'm kind thinking Paloma Picasso's Tiffany x's...or am I way off here?

Would there be any way I could open it for light? Maybe put a shade underneath?

Agree with others that recommended a top down shade. That is what we used.

For artwork, I would pick up the soothing colors in the bath. I also like the idea of a towel rack or etagerie.

I would do an area rug in front of the vanity. I am not sure if you want to stay super neutral or would like a pop of color. I then would add a smaller light bath mat in front of the tub. I think an area rug would make it look even more luxurious.

Another thought is window film for privacy. They come in various types of frosted or rice paper looks, botanicals, geometrics, or gradients that are more private on the bottom and clearer on top, or you can go with a stained glass look like this one.

They are inexpensive and easy to apply for dramatic result. And there are a slew to choose from. Some of them are custom designed for your window so you don't have to worry about fitting a pattern to your specific window.
