For some reason BM gets out of that sticky situation too... no clue what she says or does ... last time I knew she had til August 26th to make atleast 1 months payment plus 25% of the arrears or all licenses would be suspended ... but in Mass they cancel everything including your vehicle registrations. She hasn't made an official payment since June 27th and before that was April 7th.

When hubby called about it they told him all they could do was send her "another letter" ... he asked how many letters will have to be sent before anything is actually done.

We have a friend who was self employed was out of work for a couple of months with a broken leg and wrist etc. (he was attacked by a group of kids and dragged by a car for 3 blocks )couldn't pay his support everything was cancelled in less than 60 days. But BM doesn't make a payment for 4 months and they don't do anything.

I honestly think it's a 'scare tactic' and they don't want to suspend anyone's license. Then the NCP can say "I can't work, I have no license." It's really counterproductive. But, then again, if they are working, they can garnish the wages and there is no need to suspend the license. So, I'd assume that only unemployed NCP's are likely to get their license suspended. And if they won't go get a job, what do they need a license for anyways???

My DH talked to family support yesterday and they told him that BM's license will automatically be suspended after three months. He said, great! She's five months in arrears and they told him no, three months after they get the case, which was about a month ago. So, we'll see. (the worker told him she's being uncooperative.. big surprise there!)

I am starting to think it is a scare tactic too.......In our case BM says she can't see or take SD because of her work schedule....apparently this makes her unable to even call SD (it has been 10 months)She must be working pretty darn hard!! But according to CS enforcement she has claimed to be unemployed........ so BM is either lying to us or to CS enforcement........
If I failed to feed my kids for a month I am sure I would be facing neglect/criminal charges...I find it ironic.....

I think they are harder on deadbeat dads when it comes to suspending a dl. I know of quite a few cases in my state where the dad had his dl suspended for non-payment. But I can not think of one deadbeat mom in my state who has theirs suspended. Maybe the courts are taking into account other kids involved and thinking bm "needs" a drivers license??
