Does anyone wear a bathing cap anymore
Comments (30)My favorite part of the triathlon is swimming. With that said pool swimming is my favorite exercise, ocean swimming on a rainy day with an angry sea during a triathlon, not so much. And that's what we got during both triathlons I did. The first year I did ok, second it was so rough, I had a panic attack in the ocean and took a noodle and had to be guided back in with a swim angel. Anyhow, I think my triathlon days are over, I had a knee replacement very young, and the cycling and running were too hard on it. I took off from training last year, but I'm still having issues. I live in NJ and I am just not comfortable cycling in traffic, I am too afraid to get hit. Running, is completely out for me, I sort of jogged and power walked because I can't train to run, and honestly I don't think I would enjoy running even if I hadn't had a knee replacement. Those 2 triathlons were for my bucket list, next is a swim in the Navesink River race this June. Planning on starting training in Mid-February. I hope a river swim is kinder than the ocean! I'm envious of your pool, I would be in it daily if I had one! Enjoy your workouts....See MoreHow do we feel about curtain lengths?
Comments (20)for the most part, i prefer to the floor or just above. i'm trying to plan draperies for the new house now but they will be nothing like what we had at the old house... when i did the downstairs at our first place we did puddled curtains. my bff is a decorator and has been in the business for a thousand years. he knows EVERYONE. so they were made by a woman he stole from a professional work room and expertly hung by two specialists who spent over nine hours at my house steaming, fussing and arranging the draperies. this was not a weekend job for them. they told me they had been at the douglas-zeta jones residence the day before. i paid them $500 (not bad considering the time spent) and was asked in advance to provide six different flavors of ben & jerry's ice cream. seemed fair to me. plus it was august, after all. when they finished, the drapes were perfect and glorious. everyone commented on them. they were stunning. and then, one day i decided to pull out my vacuum cleaner and do a quick once around. so i picked up one side of the drapes and vacuumed the floor behind and below. and then i tried to puddle them in the exact, picture perfect arrangement as styled by the ultra fabulous team with the ice cream obsession. i was heartbroken. it wasn't easy but after a long time (...who knows, maybe an hour?) i finally brought them back to an acceptable state. from that point on, i never touched them, they never moved. i vacuumed AROUND them, always careful not to disturb their perfectness again -until the day we moved. so, no more puddled anything for me. romans or to the floor. that's about as dramatic as i'm ever going again....See MoreDoes anyone put heat lamps into bathrooms anymore?
Comments (59)Sure, Build.com and other sites sell them. Found one in about two minutes. Here But they are not going to work for a sloped ceiling. No one probably makes one that swivels like you would need for that application. Heat in a radiant form, as in a light bulb heater, travels in a straight line and you will be heating whatever surface the ceiling pitch has the bulb pointing at. You need to build out a triangular box to put the fixture in. You can drywall it so that it is not as obvious as mine was. It is not a great picture, but in the upper left side of the photo you can see the maple triangular box that gives my light fixture a level surface to hang on....See MoreDoes anyone wear pantyhose anymore?
Comments (35)I think if you are dressing up you should wear either panty hose or thigh highs.I just think people look underdressed without nylons when they are supposed to be dressed up. A lot of the tv stars don't wear them, like Kelly Rippa and some of the other hostess's of shows don't wear them either, also some of the runway models. MY own personal opinion is that they make the outfit and the person look finished. Oh and i really hate to see women in dresses in the winter time with open toed shoes as well and no hose!!!JMO Kathi...See Moregraywings123
