I typed in 63 inch curtains in Google and got lots of hits. Have you tried that? Now, I clicked on some of them and they did not show pictures fo the 63 in lenght ones, so that might not help you. They usually shoed the longer length in the picture but also sell the 63" length.

Sill length and apron length curtains are not currently "in fashion" as much as the longer ones, which is why you don't see them in magazines and catalogs, but they are classics.

Country Curtains does sell some of their curtains in 63" length off-the-shelf, but they also will custom-size almost any curtain. (They are SO not "country" anymore!)

If you're absolutely in love with something from PB or another company that does not offer either a 63" or customizing, you can purchase the longer length and have them hemmed by a local sew-er. Dry cleaners usually do alterations (although IME it tends to be overpriced) and sewing machine stores often have books of business cards from people who do sewing either as a main business or on the side. I used to have a great "sewing lady" I found that way but she retired and moved down South to get away from the NH winters. ;-)

I am in the planning stages of a bedroom re-model, and I plan to use simple white cotton curtains that do not go to the floor. I want a light, airy look.

I am trying to figure out where they should end - bottom of the window frame or a few inches below that. I can't decide.

Yes-- for the same reasons you mention-- I already put 63" in my DR, and have them ready to go (well, the lace panels. . .still need to sew the others) for my LR.

I'm going to be hanging short curtains in my dining room as soon as I get off my tuff and go do it.

I also went from long to short curtains in my bedroom and it really brightened up the room.

I wouldn't go by Pottery Barn, nothing of theirs changes, year after year it's the same black & white, or brown & white decorations. lol Can you tell I'm not a Pottery Barn fan? :)

And I'm one of those who doesn't give a flip about what's in fashion at the moment. Do what you like. If it looks good to YOUR eyes, then I imagine it will look good to everyone else's.

yes, I'd do what I wanted and what was right for my house. I'm planning on short curtains. (i have half 'n half now).

the long ones aren't hard to hem either.

mine are usually some below the window sill. i take 'em where they come - doesn't matter to me if they're 3" below or 6" below.

I have 44" curtains in my kids' rooms. They reach the bottom of the sills, which are 48" off the floor in this house. With such high windows it looks silly to have curtains to the floor. Whether it's in fashion or not, it looks great in their rooms!

Put them in and you will be ahead of style curve in a year!

Shorter curtains sound like they would make much more sense in your home.

I really like shorter (sill- and apron- length) curtains. Not in every room or case, but in some places, they just make a lot more sense if you have furniture or a bed up against the wall.

I have to put my kiddos to bed but later I'll post some pics I have of shorter curtains.

I just wanted to say Anele, I really like your DR. Those curtains really look nice in there. Love the wall color and the furniture too!

I purchased my first home a few months ago and bought 94 inch curtains and liked them. I hung them, then bought more 94 inch curtains for the dining room. Months later I read that curtains should hang to the floor. :( So I should have gotten 108 inch curtains I guess. Since I spent a few hundred dollars in curtains- these are here to stay. Actually, Pottery Barn has shown short curtains. Last year I clipped pictures of them and used the pictures for a starting place for my curtains, which are sill length.
