I quit buying anything from Sears two years ago and had bought most everything from them before. I was buying my daughter a dishwasher and had put it on my mastercard. 20 minutes later DD said she really needed a clothes washer so we went back to the desk and told them we wanted to change the dishwasher for a clothes washer and was told we could'nt exchange because i used a mastercard and not a Sears card. after argueing abit, i told them i was calling mastercard and canceling the order. Than they were too friendly. We went to Lowes and bought the washer. Have'nt been in a Sears store since. oakleif

There's an art studio near my work that serves disabled adults. Every December they have an open house and I have picked up a lot of pieces over the years. They have $5 and $10 tables with smaller pieces (lots of wood-block prints on the cheap tables) plus larger pieces, some framed, ceramics, woodworking, textiles, etc. I have some pieces from family and friends, some that I did at paint-and-sip places, some pieces from craft fairs, and a few from galleries. I've purchased original art and limited edition prints online from Saatchi Art. I've shopped at other sites but not purchased; unfortunately I can't keep all the names straight. I have only a few mass-market pieces anymore, pieces that I particularly liked. A lot of what is sold at Home Goods and Target and the like are giclee prints. Giclee prints are fine (and affordable), but they don't have any texture. My biggest issue with mass-market prints is that a lot of them seem very generic, because, well, mass market, and they want to be broadly appealing. So they are often blandly appealing but not really very interesting. If you find one that wows you, by all means don't let the fact that it is mass market discourage you. But I would discourage you from choosing something to fill space just because it matches your decor. That's a recipe for boring.

I have new Delta rough-in valve + mixing valve (thermostatic = 17T) in a guest bathroom that was renovated a couple years ago. It looks similar to yours due to the large square escutcheon plate - but I have the Ara in polished chrome finish: I'm not home - so, I can't take a photo of it - however, it looks like it did when it was installed. The shower has had A LOT of use due to issues related to the renovation of my primary bathroom renovation + one of my daughters came home for awhile. I HATE water spots - and we have hard water. However, if a microfiber cloth is used to wipe down the fixture, it is SPOTLESS. Now, I am the only one who does that right when I finish my shower. My SO - and my daughter when she was using the shower - rarely ever wiped it down after showering. The fixture would look just like yours does after one of them took a shower (or a few in a row) without the fixture being wiped afterwards . However, all I had to do was wet the fixture again (either by taking a shower or using a wet cloth) and then use the microfiber cloth to wipe the plate/handle - and all previous dried water spots disappeared. To be clear - I never came close to "polishing" the fixture - or used any type of cleaner on it. No elbow grease was needed - just a quick wipe. The fixture really does look like it did when it was installed - and remember, mine are polished chrome = water spots show more than on brushed stainless (which I am assuming that your finish is since it clearly does not look like chrome). If quickly wiping it with a microfiber cloth right after showering - or re-wetting it and then wiping it - doesn't work, then something is wrong with your finish.

Why does Houzz make it so damn difficult for some of us to post here? ARGHHH Just two of us here. We only have one CC. Costco Visa. All of our bills are on auto pay to the card. Paid off every month. We have ample storage space. Once a year Costco trip includes TP, paper towels, trash bags, cleaning supplies, adult diapers, aluminum foil and cling wrap (lasts many years!), canned goods, spices, flour, sugar, rice, beans, pasta, parmesan cheese, butter, frozen fish/seafood.... But, look into some of their other member benefits as well! Their return policy is unprecedented! I bought a Vizio TV from them years ago. I started getting this weird fading into the screen from the upper left corner. I called and asked about returning it. They told me to keep it and sent me a check for the full purchase price, including tax (over $800.00!). That TV lasted another 12 years. We had to make an emergency trip to Florida in 2023. A six day drive for us, 12 days getting my mother settled into an assisted living facility, and another six day drive home. We got a discount on the rental car ($500.00) and cash rewards for the rental, fuel, hotels and food for the month. They have other benefits we haven't even needed yet. I will be looking into the home and auto insurance this year, though. My cash back rewards every February (from three hundred to twelve hundred) more than pays for our fifty five dollar membership fee.
