Hi SaintHelena, I'm a novice gardener with the same problem - recently moved into a property with a Jasminum mesnyi growing out of control against the side fence. It's a bush 10-12 feet tall and the vines have seriously damaged the fence. It has also ascended into nearby trees twice its height, climbing all the way to the top. Someone recently cut it back out of the trees, but it seems almost impossible to control - canes that touch the ground take root and new plants appear. I have been pulling up canes with roots and new growth regularly. I believe any prunings need to be removed from the ground fairly quickly to avoid them forming roots. Good luck with yours!

Looking for a nice blooming dwarf tree, Smaller Japenese variety would be nice along with Cherry etc. Also Grape vines!! Let me know what you have. Ha ha, looks great! I should have done that to the weeping atlas I lost this year. Mine was trained in the same arching zig zag shape and would have been perfect for some needed clematis in the garden. Never thought to make it into a trellis. Nice idea turning a loss into a positive. I replaced mine with a Ginkgo biloba 'Ross Moore', a stong weeping form. I just lost my large Metasequoia glyptostroboides 'Ogon'. Maybe I should grow a trumpet vine or some wisteria up it lol.

Well, They do have weeping conifers... but what I was thinking was more along the likes of the ground hugging floppy trunked varities like a co-worker has in her yard. It doesn't bloom- but hers sure looks pretty with a yellowish- orangey tint to the evergreen foliage, and drapes wonderfully over her concrete retainer wall! Unfortunatly- she didn't plant it and there are no tags around it- so we don't know the name or variety....
