Moonshadow, I'm sorry my email is unlisted; it was that way before the change-over from Spike when all the data went loopy and now I can't change it back, although I've tried several times. (Full disclosure, years ago I was once "Sent to Disney" for, um, criticizing the management on a thread. Then I sneaked back on with a different user name and addy once I got over my sulks and found I couldn't do without THS. During the big change over my two accounts got confabulated and the result is I can't change anything on my profile.) On the happy side however, I do have a fresh copy of Califirnia Paints historical colors brochure along with the formula for Jackson Antique and its nearby colors. Perhaps we can think of some way to get a relay so you can send your snail addy to me somehow. Does anyone have a working THS email account? Well, now that I'm a day late and a dollar short....read it all. Love furniture, fireplace not so much (get rid of that black scroll - it's too much for the brick) also all that brick is throwing me off. You had one idea with the wood surround on the brick, it was medium color wood and it softened the brick also with the mantel. Love 2nd picture for over mantel, very pretty. Love the lamps with some gold in them but not the shade, just doesn't go. The busy metals I would say is a no in the lamps, personally I am not fond of that look in there. Rug looks like a nice size, I think smaller isn't a good choice. I even like the colors, they are calm. It is a very comfortable room, may I come and sit a spell? Tables,I don't have a clue on them. You're coming along and I think it's good when you can look through other's eyes.....others pick up on things that you yourself never even thought of. I think we are very fortunate that we have so many wonderful designers here that give so willingly of their time to help out with ideas. I believe they get a round of applause.

Sueb20, I was wondering about that particular "technical term," lol. Good to think about. I think I'm off the mohair, then. SOmeday I'll retire from New Mexico to Duluth or Saskatchewan (someplace COLD!) and at that point I'll do the mohair... (: Nanabella, how was the 100$ cotton velvet re stain removal? Good warning re the chenille. I don't like chenille much, but wear is important to keep in mind. Speaking of which, budge, can you tell me more about linen, its wear and ease of spot removal? I am not enthusiastic about slipcovering; part of the reason for reupholstering is to remove the current skirt and expose the chair's legs. I tend to think of a slipcover as down to the ground. I think I'm leaning toward the velvet, either cotton-poly or just plain old cotton, though I'm interested to hear comments about linen or linen tweed as an option. Naturally I had to look at the NM Vensea rug that I couldn't afford while looking at yours. :( Horchow is owned by NM and sometimes has different prices but not this time. I always sign up for emails and then they send %off sales. If you really like Oushaks you can google the name and find others not so expensive. Safavieh makes most of them for the big stores. There is one compromise pricewise between hand tufted (which will shed for a while, if new) and hand knotted. Soumak rugs are handmade, reversible rugs that wear like iron.
