I spoke too soon....

I guess it was just too good to be true. After agreeing yesterday to meet with DH today, ex called him today to cancel this afternoon's meeting. She said that she felt they would have ample time to talk on Wednesday, while the attorney's are in with the referree. DH is disappointed, but what do ya do? He really felt that he was doing the right thing (as usual), and was hopeful that they could work this out to some degree before Wednesday. No doubt it would have sent a good message, not only to the courts, but to DSD that her parents are able to work together for her best interests.

Oh, well...

Cancel the finger-crossing and prayer for 4pm. Reschedule them for Wednesday at 1:00.

Nicks mom, I think TOS raised the question best -- this is a situation where no one sees a compromise. Maybe mome realized that -- and she sees no point to a meeting. Do you see any compromise?

My guess is that Mom retained an attorney today, and either needs to meet with him/her at that time, or told the atty that she and DH were going to meet to discuss, and was told not to by the atty.

Or, maybe you're right. I know that DH is willing to compromise on ANYTHING except for custody. But visitation, child support, sharing costs of non-covered medical/dental, etc. I suspect Mom feels the same way.

I guess we'll find out Wednesday.

I saw your reply to my reply at the other thread. Yes it was shortlived...and I too miss it, but am optimistic that they will in time get all the bugs worked out. I'm just glad they gave us an update in the What's New' banner.

Hey gram, I'd love to see your door if you'd care to post a photo (hint, hint). Up close, my screen door is crap, no other way of putting it. I see quite a few on homes in my town so they must have been selling them locally at some point 20+ years ago. I've never seen them sold since. The wood is splitting at all the joints. It's a low-end door that looks kinda cute at a distance but is falling apart. Maybe I'll do a free CL if someone will just take it away. My house also faces west but there are only 7-10 days a year when I have to close my door against the heat, never the sun itself. The built-in blinds you got sound like they work great for you. I passed a 3/4 lite door today (no screen) and it looked so good. I think my cats are hoping I get a full lite so they don't have to stand on their hind paws to see out. They are a vocal full-lite lobby.
