andrelaplume, I hope you can get some pictures posted of your shed and the lay of the land. Your "light bulb" about a side door isn't too far fetched and not too late either. I heard that the statute limiting sheds to doors on one side only was repealed. If you have adequate wall height on the sides for driving the tractor in without giving yourself a free hair cut (or lobotomy) a doorway for the tractor might be reasonable. If you decided to add a door on the side, you could design the "doors" as "2 half doors with a vertical overlap where the 2 halves meet in the middle (to hide the center seam), hinge the doors at the bottom so that when the "doors" are let down they become a short entry ramp. The "doors" could be equipped with latches/hasps/bolts that are entirely on the inside of the shed and it wouldn't even be obvious that there was an opening from outside the shed. Attach a short length of light duty rope to the upper inside surface of each "door" so you can pull the "doors" closed or let them down from inside the shed. This trick would allow you to keep your current ramp (if you wish) for all the other traffic, and would keep from having 2 readily visible ramps in place. (Just another idea that started ricocheting around inside my skull) Of course, this idea would be easiest to accomplish IF your shed is covered with the popular "T-111" 4' X 8' wood panels. Vinyl siding would be more problematic to accomplish a "hidden" door, but there are still ways that could be handled.

I have learned the hard way that not all permanent markers are permanent outdoors . And as for vinyl blind markers they are great if you live in a protected spot . Out here in farm country between the freeze thaw cycles which heave the vinyl blind markers out of the ground and the wild winds that have blown them, only the man upstairs knows where, I gave up on those a long time ago . I now make my markers out of old pop cans and a brother electronic label maker ( built to withstand the out of doors) very clearly ledgeable even after 4 seasons now . I get three labels that are approx 2 x 3 when complete with lots of room for name , and any other pertinent info I need to know ......with 700 different named daylily cultivars it is imperative to know who is who. FYI all of you nail polish remover users: nail polish remover is usually acetone. See Brickeye's list. It is highly flammable. So unplug and douse the pilot lights with it, too. The other thing to remember is that all of these highly volatile organic compounds are not good for you to breathe. They can be irritants, or worse. From Wikipedia: "Acetone is believed to exhibit only slight toxicity in normal use, and there is no strong evidence of chronic health effects if basic precautions are followed.[20] At very high vapor concentrations, acetone is irritating and, like many other solvents, may depress the central nervous system. It is also a severe irritant on contact with eyes, and a potential pulmonary aspiration risk." So pull your head out of the dryer for a breath of fresh air, every so often! I agree with Jeremy! Norten's use of a vacuum - even a shop vac, which I assume he used, though he did not specify - was very dangerous. I did a search on his name of his "method" to see if this was a prank that he had perpetuated elsewhere on the web. No hits. He is just dangerously incompetent, not truly evil.

Stinky, I've mentioned it so many times on this forum that people are probably getting sick of me, lol. I can't stand decorating the rooms with 18' ceilings. My last house only had one of them, but here it's the foyer, living room and great room. Did you see my recent post about the different color moldings? That shows the decorated model of our house. While I think I've come up with some inexpensive ideas for wall art, it's a shame to me to have to buy something large to 'fit a space' rather than something smaller that I truly love. My dream home would have 10', at the most, 12' ceilings. I am getting quite anal about decorating my dining room. Bought an expensive French Heritage table and want to splurge on window treatments. This is because it's the only 'normal' size room on the first floor. I'm not counting the kitchen because as nice as it is, they crammed so many cabinets in it that there is no room for art. No wall space at all. Les had a great idea to take the "odd little corner cabinet" (her words, lol) down as it is off center and really serves no purpose. DH was amenable to that. It's one area that I compromised on because DH just loves the high ceilings, maybe because he's 6'4", but I couldn't do it again. We'll be staying here until we retire.
