Window treatments for a box bay window in master bedroom?
Comments (5)I used a board-mounted box pleated valance on the box bay in my dining room. I screwed the board right into the soffit above the window. The way mine was framed, there wasn't enough room to hang a rod high enough to cover the top of the window trim. I made long panels of the same fabric for my living room windows. I used honeycomb shades on all the windows (not room darkening, but I did consider them). Most of the time I leave them up, but we don't have a guest room and the sleep sofa is in the living room, so privacy is an issue when we have overnight guests. Totally Confused...See MoreBedroom furniture has arrived! Pics! Need help w/ window...
Comments (24)Alrighty... I have been to JC Penny's (and a dz other stores) and am having trouble finding the right shade of grey. BUT- I have had no trouble finding blues!!!!! Would it be possible to bring blue into this room with window treatments and maybe a rug? These WT are from JC Penny's... they are not the right length, I just brought them home for color. It's a blue/grey... WDYT? Wide, just so you can see the color. and here they are more "closed" which is how I would hang them. I'm a little concerned they look "random"... like, where did I get the blue from? Thoughts? Also- we got our triple dresser. And *shudder* we got a new TV. We are not a big TV family (in fact, we just went from 1 TV to 2) but I like to watch the news as I get ready.... I know, I know... many of you are cringing. So am I. Until I get to watch the Today Show in the morning... I am feeling much more informed! ;) It's a beast. I also got a cute little (faux) orchid on clearence at Target. WDYT? How else do I decorate this wall (this is opposite the bed.)...See MoreNeed help picking window treatments for Master Bedroom
Comments (9)This is pretty much the furniture layout, due to doorway one wall with bathroom door same wall on other end. Closet door on another. I tried moving the furniture around including angling bed in corner. I once had the bed on the wall to left of bed, but that has one window as well & it looked more awkward there with no room for side tables. I would consider painting the furniture, eventually, but that is a big job with so much more else to be done. I can live with it for now. Comments (8)So the bed stays where it is I think the four-poster bed doesn't work in this particular situation. I would replace the headboard with one that is upholstered, low, and simple in design to allow more light from the windows in the room. I would consider a 'bed crown' or corona to address the window treatment and the bed at the same time. These can be as elaborate or as simple as you like. ( see an example of simple short drapery rod used to hold the drapery panels.) Or the crown can be a cornice piece to hold the fabric in place....See Morepricklypearcactus
