Mosaic the fireplace? weeeellll, I'll give it a try!!!

A hosebib inside the wall leaked and flooded the whole floor....I've been trying to talk DH into letting me mosaic this fireplace and now I can finally do it!!!

I've always had this weird thing about mirrors being hung above tall fireplaces. I feel like I have to jump to see if I can try to see myself in it. I reall ylike the idea of a picture of the front door or something architectural about our house. CEFreeman - I posted awhile ago about a photographer whose work I really liked. The pic that I am most interested in has just the right amount of color and I'd like to put it in my LR which is across the hall from the office. Oh Auntjen - that's horrible! I was so upset when I herd the crash that I left everything in a pile just where they fell for a few days. Broken glass and all. The driver sits in the back on the right side, and yes it would usually be the governess herself. Seating on the sides probably was best so that very young children could be watched more closely. No seat belts! One other bit of interesting info about this particular cart. The axle is made in such a way that it can be raised or lowered according to the height of the pony being used to pull it. I always thought that was neat. Too bad it is so expensive to have wicker repaired or I'd done that long ago. I was even tempted to take lessons and learn wicker work myself but never followed through.

Lady, actually, I am hoping to mosaic over my kitchen floor(just straight over the tile as it's a concrete slab too and the tiles are on there good) and the backsplash, soooo, I have to do a really good job on the fireplace so DH will be more "receptive" at that idea....or I'll just start when he's at work for 12hrs and than it'll already be on the wall and he can't say nuthin'! lol!!! Are you catching this Daisyme??hee hee!!!!

Poor Janie-bo, she did have another accident. Last week she cut her hand badly on broken glass, and then this week she jig sawed her finger, owwwwwweeee. Jeesh girl take it easy and quit hurtin your self so you can do your projects,

I AM SO HOPELESS!!! I did jigsaw my finger!! It's all chewed up now, I'm so mad at myself!!! I was trying to get my front window project done since DH can't seem to find the time!(Workaholic) I just get going too fast and my brain gets ahead of my hands!!! Today I took it easy and just went snooping/scrounging around for lumber and such, and also went to the pond guy, who talked me out of buying a pump right now(Has he been talking to DH??!!!)since we have this reno/insurance job to pay for. He even said that he can hardly wait to see what I do, mosaic wise, to the fireplace!lol! (I showed him pics of my garden art)

Ooooh, so sorry about the mangled digit! Ouch, I bet that hurt! Take it easy and take it slow....let those ideas percolate for awhile and then you can get back at it...SAFELY!
