Small Frosted Apothecary jars other uses for?

I purchased a case of jars that look like the ones shown on this link.

They were terrible to try and wick for candles. The middle is wider and the opening is very small. Made too much soot. Anyway, I was trying to think of some other uses for them. I thought about buying some really nice transparent decal type stickers and using them as spice/herb/tea containers. Any other suggestions? Maybe something I could do with them and use as small holiday gifts?

I love those jars kittymommy and I think I will have to get some of them. I decoupage, so I would decoupage Christmas images on them and maybe personalize them as small gifts. You could always fill them with candy also.

They are cute but a major pain if you make candles. Mine are sorta bubble shape(larger in the middle)small top. Thanks for the candy suggestion. They only hold 5oz so it will have to be very small candy.

Luvs, Didn't make the dish. I wouldn't even attempt it. I've got no talent in that area! Got it on eBay last year. Cute, huh?! The tall apothecary was an eBay purchase too. But I think I got the best deal at our new Trading Company. The big squatty one is from there. Their prices were pretty good on apothecary jars, considering they're high on so many things.

I'm very glad you started this thread. A few months ago there was another apothecary jar thread that made me wish I had some! I put them on my Christmas list and my daughter gave me these two beautiful jars already decked out for Christmas. She put pine cones and berries in one and greenery with big brass bells in the other. I plan to leave them like this probably through mid February but I'm already trying to come up with thoughts for what they can hold during spring/summer months. They are beautiful empty but it's such a fun way to change things up and bring in color also. I hope lots more of you will share your pictures and ideas. I'm taking notes!

The dried flowers came from Target, they sell vase filler in 2 sections of the store. One in the candle isle the other by our lamps. I bought it last year, but recently saw it again at a super target. The beads are a strand of beads wrapped around numerous times, on the outside that I bought at a home decorating show.....they are for decorating candle sticks. My sizes are 23, 19, & 17 (this one looks smaller since its skinnier). Target was selling something similar, a little more narrower, in their dishes section. Try Marshalls and TJ Max. Such a shame you dont have a Home Goods. Good thing is these jars are becoming more and more popular and easier to find. I remember that other post, I think it had to do with decorating a mantel.

I'd use a couple in the bathrooms for Q-Tips and cotton balls. And on the bedside table to hold those little items I always seem to need.

Not quite what I have, but maybe you could do something along this line........I bought some very old medicine bottles(junk actually) and poured white paint in them. Then painted a letter on each one........N, O, E, L.......all being different heighths. Then I hung a jingle bell, or piece of greenery, or bow on each neck of the jar........and set them all on my guest bathroom counter for Christmas! They looked really nice on a red decorated doily with an electric "candle" by them. Made a cute vignette and even provided a "nightlight"!
