below-sink hose connector?

For years I've loved having a simple garden hose adapter on the end of my kitchen faucet (stock photo below) so I can get hot water into the yard every month or so.

But I'm about to have a pull-down faucet* installed, and it seems such an adapter won't work on them, so...

Is there some sort of under-sink adapter I could have installed (it would only need to tap the hot water line)?

*I'm still deciding which (maybe a "Kohler Simplice K-647" or a " Hansgrohe 06460000 Allegro E SemiPro").

Why not just have a hot water spigot plumbed to your exterior?

My landlord (I rent) wouldn't agree to that. Which is OK, my kitchen sink is just a few feet from my sliding glass door to the yard.

Is there some undersink fixture I can ask a plumber to install to meet my need?

I'm going to not have to worry about this til spring now. But I have 3 options that I can consider... 1) I bought this a while back. Since it's going to go more or less by the evergreen in the corner next to where the deck starts, it could blend in better than the next option below. I only wish this had some type of a hose winder, pain to try and put it back each time with my length of hose. http://www.amazon.com/Yard-Butler-HCF-3-Standing-Garden/dp/B000CZ2XRQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1321707766&sr=8-1 2) Hose box - bulkier than above, beige color, but winds up easily, sit sprayer on top 3) Use neither of the above in that location. Why I didn't think of this before, maybe my mind is going worse than I think it already has. Take the longest hose I have and hook it to the faucet on the right side of the house, which is right behind the lattice that's now up under the deck. I had one put in, right to the left of the door to the crawl space in the pic posted on Nov 11th, bascially to the very left of that picture. I think the hose I have could be used almost all the way around the house if there. Can't remember the length, but it's pretty long. Will measure it and see if it's a possibility that could work. That way, no need to wrap up more than 1 hose and it would be hidden and not be an issue. Here's hoping!!! I can keep a smaller hose on the first option just long enough to do the very front of the house, in which case, it's length would be a breeze to wrap up after use. Well, it's all been solved now, but I wanted to make a post in case others come across this problem. First let me say that Orbit has been PHENOMENAL. They have gone above and beyond what a company needed to do, and that's so rare these days. THANK YOU ORBIT! The reason my soaker hose was exploding was because my pressure was too high. I bought the Orbit brand pressure regulator, but those are made for "normal" water pressure situations. It turns out mine is super high. Normal PSI is 30-60. Mine is above 90. (I got a gauge) WIth the regulator, it was down to just above 40, but that's too high for these hoses. It needs to be 25 PSI or below. (Which also explains why the ground was soaked in a half hour instead of the two or so hours people were talking about!) I'm going to have to buy a regulator that's built for high pressure situations, something that can take 90 down to 25. Even though this wasn't Orbit's fault (because my town has crazy pressure), they're still sending me yet another roll of hose. No charge. (They'd already sent one, and I exploded it too) I did make one suggestion to Orbit, and that is they rewrite their manual to emphasize the pressure control. And I hate to suggest people spend an extra ten bucks on a pressure reader, but if your hose starts splitting, get one and see if your pressure isn't too high. Lessons learned, but at least now I know why this was happening. Orbit rules. The good news is that for some odd reason I still have the receipt on the regulator so I can return it to Wal Mart! Yay.

We had a plumber come out to give an estimate to fix a leaky toilette and a leak in a basement ceiling. He wanted $1,100 to fix two leaks with the toilette being about $400. I did get some lower offers for about $300 to $400, but even at that, I have several more things to fix and at that rate it was going to be pretty costly. And I've read some other people's here and their prices are pretty high. Like $180 for ONE outdoor faucet. Before trying shark bite, or gator bites, I taught my self to weld pipes with a torch and solder etc. I did a couple and was pretty proud of it and saved like $400 for a water heater pipe repair. The reason I didn't try the shark bite at that point is that I couldn't find them near by so tried using the torch that time a year back or so. But now this week I noticed shark and gator bites at Lowes and Home Depot and decided to try them out. I had to go to both stores since some parts were sold out. I used it to replace the outdoor faucet with a washerless, ball faucet in the front of the house And was amazed. IT WORKED! And even though I knew how to use a torch, felt like it was easier. Besides I would have had to put something flame retardant in the basement to weld because there are wooden beams there. Or at least spray with water. But now I didn't even have to worry about it. I only had to cut the pipe in the basement, and use a gator bite coupling and push the two pipes together. Then I did the same for the faucet by screwing it onto a shark bite part and then pushing it onto the pipe. It was easy. I was worried about it leaking, but I've checked and no leaks. Not even a drip. Nothing. It sealed perfectly. Now tomorrow, I am going to replace the other out door faucet on the back of the house. No more miserable, leaking 20 year old faucet. And now I have 3 or 4 more repairs I've been putting off all lined up. Over all, I like Shark Bites. You can also get Gator Bites at Lowes or other places.

Thanks @whirlpooltrainee & @nerdyshopper. I made an appointment with a tech from a Bosch-affiliated shop coming by at the end of this week. In the meantime, I had my regular repair guy (who'd cleared the problem last time) and he said it should have been high-looped (which is what the installation manual says as well). So he made that fix and reset the machine so that it works. But he also indicated that there was water collecting at the bottom of the tub and that he thought the control panel was wonky. I'm keeping the Bosch warranty appointment for this week to make sure that I get it fully checked by an expert.

Your landlord wouldn't appreciate you mucking about with the plumbing at all then. There isn't anything you can do here that wouldn't be a Rube Goldberg mass of a half dozen potentially leaky brass ''adapters'' from your shutoff valve. Garden hoses are different sizes than undersink shutoff valves and the ONLY way to do this correctly messes with the home's permanent piping to create a permanent hot tap.

Bummer. I know he'll let me (I've got a disability it accommodates) install the new faucet, and if it could be more elegant than you say (yikes, "a Rube Goldberg mass of a half dozen potentially leaky brass ''adapters'' from your shutoff valve"!) probably that too but you're right. Perhaps I'll just run the hose to my bathroom sink instead.

I've got carpal tunnel, and I presoak very hard-to-clean pots (in fabric softener and automatic dishwasher detergent) so I'm capable of cleaning the pots.

A DW with a potscrubber cycle would be a better additon to talk your landlord into. It would add value to the rental.

Perhaps I should look into that, however I can't imagine that the extreme baking (a long story) I do could be cleaned by a DW with a potscrubber cycle.

coyote2 - you'd be surprised what a good DW can do these days!. Also, can't you just soak the pots in the sink or on your counter instead of taking them outside?

The pots, and my hands, are so bad it takes weeks of multiple soakings.

Using the bathroom wont be so bad; I will need a longer hose tho since the 2 I hook together leak in between and can't have that inside!

With your issue I suspect many options have been tried. But am going to suggest water in pans on stove to a boil or in microwave if glass. I always use water in my pans as soon as they come off the stove (less the food). This cleans the leftover immediately.
