tearing out kitchen hardwood glue or float

They are tearing out my kitchen hardwood floor. We are gutting the whole kitchen and redoing all our floors. In the whole house. After watching them for 2 days with a saw, jackhammer, crowbar and taking out 1 inch squares at a time I'm beginning to want to float the new wood. Currently we have wood in kitchen, foyer back hall and kid's bedroom hallway. Everyone except my one friend who has floated floors and likes them says don't do it. I know it sounds different but is that the only thing "wrong" with floating. I have concrete floors. I hate to think of ever having to do this again, it is a nightmare. Dirty, dusty and since it would be the whole house I just couldn't imagine that tear out should we live long enough! Does anyone like floated floors? I am really getting a lot of opposition to this. The flooring guy smiled after and said either one is not a wrong decision. The floor would be nice. Opinions because everyone has one!!
