How come no one is posting to Trash & Treasure forum, what's going on?

I've wondered the same thing and then thought, "Well, duh! They're probably been as busy as you have and just haven't gotten around to posting!" LOL Thanks for asking, though, Sal! LOL

I've completed two projects that I want to post photos of (and brag about). Gotta go out of town today but hopefully can get them on here tomorrow.

Come on, you guys, everybody's gotta turn in their homework! LOL

Daisydawnny, hope you are feeling much better now! For katbird, terrene, mnwsgal and lois - I am so sorry for your losses. I was always more of a lurker than a poster, but I have so enjoyed this site and got alot of great plants by ws! FB is not the same - I can barely find new messages or postings on it, let alone do the searching that was so invaluable to me in learning about ws. I really don't even like it for socializing. Who cares if I'm going to the store? Does everyone really want a picture of my life every 15 minutes? No one wants to be that bored!!! I am one of the many who has not done as much gardening the past few years. I lost my mom unexpectedly in 2011 and my dad after a long bout of cancer in 2012. So what little attention and energy I have had have been elsewhere. While my flower beds are reasonably full, I do plan to ws a few things this year - annuals and such - to fill in gaps. I want to get back to digging in the dirt regularly and taking better care of them. I think it will make for a very happy spring and summer. :- )))))))

No snow in my neck of the woods ( sad face)... But I'm carrying 5 college credits that are kicking my butt with the work load, exams, reading, etc. Then I have an machine applique side-job (I'm appliqueing 4" greek letters and numbers onto jackets and t-shirts) I've been busy with. Then girl scout cookie booths and meetings, and we've added dance classes this week, and the list goes on! and on! and on! I still need to photograph the wedding quilt, but I also need time to sit at a laundromat to get it washed before gifting... When to do that with 4 kids in tow?? And next week I get to look forward to DH travelling to Minnesota Wed-Saturday late. Oh Joy! I would also like to work on a challenge quilt that has an ever-approaching deadline... Have grandeous plans that may not be achievable... That's where I've been... remember, you asked first!!

I have virtually no mosaic experience, but when I made my backsplash last month, I softened the edges of the glass by filling an empty plastic sour cream container about 3/4 full of pieces, adding water to cover and a squirt of dish soap. Then I shook it, sometimes really hard and sometimes sorta haphazard, for about five minutes. Then I'd pour off the water and let the pieces dry on a rag. The little sharp edges collect in the bottom into sand and the other pieces are much less sharp (no ice cream maker). I also bought a stone in the tile cutting area of Lowes for about 8 bucks that you can use to sand down rough edges after you've just made a cut. It worked really well on the pieces I had to cut down further to fit into a specific spot. The key is to have a watertight container that is quite sturdy or to wrap it in a rag or something. I got a very gentle shower at one point because my container lid started to leak a bit. Good luck. Ok, I'm posting a message to all - I'm a newbie of about a month and a half now and it was this forum that got me hooked onto the Garden Web forums. This is fantastic, it has given me joy, peace and relaxation and I for one, refuse to let it end here. I realize everyone is busy, busy but we need to get some action going here and I'm going to start it up again by posting not only on this msg but another in this forum. Don't mean to sound pushy cause I have been in the Garden Junk forum more often too.

So here is a pic of a yard street lamp pole that I found and after tyring different things for a light, including wrapping a small basketball in tin foil, (oh my gosh, that was horrible), then buying a vase that was alright but too small, I opted to go buy a yellow gazing ball. I found the bench and it needs new boards cut for it. The old farm milk can I painted. I have switched the motif of this pole around so many times, but I like it and I find something else I want to stick out there for a change now and then.

Hope to see everyone joining back in and making this forum an everyday "check see" for all.

Sal ,i like them all especially that street light.TFS.I used to come here all the time,but it got so dead that i stopped also.I do pop over every now and then to see if anyone has posted anything.Hope it starts back up.
