Vote on cabinet, floor, & countertops--PICS

I need your opinions! We were going to gut our kitchen and start over but have decided to work with what we have (being responsible is much less fun:). We have to think of resale in 3-5 years, so in this case, it's very important to me what other people will think. I have a few scenarios and am open to other ideas as well. If you think it will improve our current look, I would love to get new floors and countertops. Choices are listed under the following pics. THANKS!

Cabinets: Choices-

#1 The cabinets can stay the current finish. I need help finding a floor and countertop that works with them. The current microwave in the island and the dw and trash compactor will turn into a cabinet or have wood panels in an attempt to simplify the look of the room.

#2 We could paint the cabinets and then get any floor and countertop. But, do you think for resale, most people will find the wood more appealing? I don't want to lower the kitchens appeal by painting over stain grade cabinets. We could also do a combo of stained and painted.

#3 We could stain the cabinets dark enough to hide the grain. But, perhaps most people will think the variation is what makes them appealing.

Floors: We plan to replace all the dark slate and wood floors with one surface (including the cream stone step that separates the kitchen and living room). Because of the sunlight, I would love light to medium floors if they will look good. An other option is to just replace the dark slate floor with the same wood in the living room and stain it all an ebony or dark brown to hide most of the grain so it will look better next to the cabinets, and it will tie in the existing countertops. You'll see the living room ceiling is a lighter wood than is on the floors, so my thinking is the room lends itself to light floors. There are also light floors in other parts of the house. As an idea, I've included a pic of a light floor without too much grain which will keep it from being too busy next to the cabinets.

Countertops: Do you think a light one will look good? Any recommendations? It all depends on the cabinet and floor color, of course. If we get new countertops, we will put a sink on the corner near the range so we have access on both sides. We may also straighten the curve behind the main sink to simplify the room. If we should go with light countertops, could we still have a dark countertop in the range area. I would love for the induction to blend in. I am pretty sure you'll say we can only do this if we paint the cabinets.

Range area: We will be figuring out a way to open up the area above the range. It may have a bigger 'window' or just columns. If we have columns, we will be able to enlarge the counter space around it. We will be getting an induction cooktop.

Fridge wall: The pantry will be replaced with 30 and 36 inch refrigeration. Would it be too much to have wood panels on them, or should we get stainless steel? I love integrated but maybe more of that wood would be too busy? To the right, the current fridge will be replaced with wall ovens.
