Insulators can be pricey when you are a collector of them, but I just buy mine at thrift stores!

I have some I dug out of a mound in the desert where they burned a lot of telegraph pole years ago. I even dug up some old wood mounting pegs with the screw cuts on one end. Now let's see where did I put those darn things?

I just have mine on an old cupboard. I think they're pretty neat.

Mine are packed away in a couple of boxes.....somewhere.

Now this is the prettiest insulator tealight holder I've seen yet. I really love the wire design on it. I've just got mine in the old bedsprings for a base.

Shysue, I used galvanized wire for these.
I have done some with silver and copper, but it gets alittle pricey.

I set some on top of my old dusk to dawn lights. It looks great,especially the blue glass ones. They were a perfect fit.
...well, I couldn't find the photo I took of it, but it's just the Malibu lights that I took the clear plastic cover off and replaced with the glass insulators. If I don't find it later, I'll take another.

I've seen them put on metal stakes (so that the insulator is close to the ground) and used to protect flower beds from hoses. Looks really nice!

Hi, I'm Kathy from Texas. I have a few insulators. In fact I just bought 2 more from ebay. I love the ones that have wings on them. Reminds me of angels. I gotta get me some of those. I want to somehow make pathway lights out of them using pvc pipes. I haven't found anything yet on what to use for the light part. I guess maybe some outdoor christmas lights? I just don't know if they will be strong enough to cast any light.

bought some at a rummage sale years ago, I painted them to look like snowmen. Little ribbon around their "necks". works for me.

I have mine sitting on the tops of my fence posts. I just drill a bolt into the top of the post and stick them on. None have ever fallen off, and I like the look.

I just stopped over from the garden junk forum! This looks like another great place to hang out and learn!

Here are my insulators. I call this my toadstool garden. Just painted some wooden stakes green, pounded them into the ground and screwed the insulators onto them.
