Finished Dk Brown Cherry & Sienna Bordeaux Kitchen for FKB
Comments (3)Hi mommabear... You are so welcome.. Your kitchen came out beautiful! I hope to see more pictures of it...Maybe some close-ups of your Sienna Bord...It looks like a very warm and inviting place for you and your family to congregate.. I hope you are happy with your sink too..I have had no issues and it's been almost a year. If you get any white spotting, (like I do) from hard water..just rub some CLR (Calcium Lime Rust) remover on them with green scrubbie. CLR can be found at the supermarket. Did you post this on the discussion side as well? I'm sure others would love to see it and there's alot more traffic on that side. Enjoy your lovely new kitchen! Comments (18)Mine is not done yet but this will give you another look at Typhoon Bordeaux. It is amazing to my how the same granite can look so different. Mine does not have a lot of the red in it, just a few spots here and there. Comments (26)mercymygift: Thanks for the compliments. I fear that the island is currently insufficiently supported -- we have the granite guys coming to look at it. The oval is 64" wide, supported in the middle by an 18x18 box. Hanging off of each of 3 sides of the box are 12" support brackets. It still leaves a lot of granite hanging over the bracket. We'll see what they say. The island can seat 5 for sure, and a 6th can probably squeeze. We're getting 6 stools -- one with no back that can slide under the island between the support box and the cabinets, out of the way. The clearance is about 41" but it really depends on where you measure. The wall oven sticks out more than we thought it would so from the handle's edge to the granite edge is probably right about there. From cabinet front to cabinet front is about 47", if i remember right. I was initially concerned, but it's really not tight at all. We haven't *used* the kitchen much, but it seems roomy enough. After installation, if I could have moved the entire Island an inch or two towards the main sink, I would have. alas......See MoreWant to help choose my slab of granite?
Comments (32)i agree, i like #3 a little better. its a little more defined and i love what is going on in the bottom right corner, very cool. brng your cab, floor sample and whatever else you have b/c it definitely will look different in person than monitor. and if you can, ask them if they have a hand-held lightbulb so you can use that to light the slab. hopefully they have a contractor light, you know the one with the cage halfway around the bulb. it will look totally different than with their florescent lights. i think you see the real color of the slab with that light. it really made a difference when i picked out my slab and you will see more detail in the slab....See Moredaveinorlado
