Mona, There could be many reasons. 1. The message includes a reference to a picture on someone's personal web page, but that page, or the picture, is no longer there. 2. The poster intended to include a picture, but forgot and posted away (tee hee vikingcraftsman...;-]) 3. The picture is huge, I mean really huge, and it takes a long time to get downloaded to your computer (and you don't wait long enough for that to complete.) 4. Your browser (or some security tool incorporated in it) has decided the picture's link isn't safe. If you can provide an example, I could be more specific. Cheers, Russ

Like Pug says, it's a frequent question and I want to see everyone's plants! /Quinn I had the same reaction when I was editing it, except... I am greedyghost, so it was worse. I also prefer Flickr. As you can see, there are only 2 photos in my Photobucket account(both for the sake of example). I used to use it for sharing photos with family, but I let it go extinct when I started posting my hobby photos on Flickr. Like Mike, I find the networking potential to be very high on Flickr. I was surprised how many Hoya people contact me about my pictures and I don't even have a very representative sample uploaded. They weren't just messaging to say "pretty picture", either, but were serious Hoya people with serious photo archives, including macro photos of flower parts, etc. So, that's pretty fun stuff there. I also prefer the aesthetics and handling of the site. There is some argument for Photobucket being a better host for people who are less comfortable with technology. It's less flashy and more repetitive, thus more fool-proof. I find the learning curve to be a little higher for Flickr. On the other hand, for the purpose of posting pictures on this forum, Flickr gives you more control over the code generated, if you're not comfortable with HTML. In the end, it only takes half hour to fully acquaint yourself with any host, and once you've got it, you've got it. There are a lot of hosts out there that I haven't explored and maybe I should.

Kismet, I love this kitchen too and it is my inspiration kitchen. I would love the aqua blue if I could keep the Roesmary Sprig. I am really emotionally invested in this color. Do you think I could get away with that? Lyfia, your approach is what seems easiest to me too, white on uppers and lowers with white on panleing and Rosemary sprig on walls. But ... Falling waters, do you think that even if I had a darker floor you'd want the Rosemary Sprig on the bottom? Maybe white on paneling and trim and Rosemary Sprig on top part of walls and on lower cabinets???? BTW, what color is the yellow cream you have in your bedroom?

To imbed images in your GardenWeb posts there are three steps: 1. Digitize photos 2. Upload pics to the internet (hosting site) 3. Link to the pics Digitize Many people have digital cameras, which automatically digitize their pics. You can also have your photos developed with a company which will save your pics onto a CD. There are other photo developing companies which will upload your pics onto an 'album' created for you on their web site. A last option is to scan your pics manually. Upload to the Internet Most of the free image hosting sites have disappeared but if you'll check the properties of a photo inserted into a GW message (place cursor on pic, select right mouse button, then select Properties> you can see which image hosting site that person uses. Another way to find image hosting sites is to do a search for "free image hosting". There are many free image hosting sites but very few allow direct linking - that is, allow your pic to appear from within a GW message. Once you've chosen an image hosting site you'll need to follow the instructions on that site to upload the images from your computer. Generally it involves creating a userID, creating albums, then navigating thru your computer to specify the location of the pic(s) you want to upload. Link GardenWeb allows HTML coding within the body of a message. The format of that HTML is: [img src=""] where you use less than symbols instead of the [ and ]. Type that exact code into your GW message but put the URL of your pic within the quotes.
