I hit the submit button befor I told you,about my frog and friends. The lady bug in the lower right hand corner is my very first project. My Mother's nick name was Ladybug. So when I started looking at this forum in 2006,KweenofKings showed me her ladybug and I decided to try one. I have made several for gifts but my first was made out of my Mothers bowling ball two months after I lost her. During all of the rains we had here last week, my little frog or I should my big frog(he weighs about 16 lbs.) had a bad fall and had to have some repair. I have decided to look for the kiddy balls,if I should ever do another. also the tire planter was my birthday gift from KweenofKings. This is the first time I have been able to put a picture in my post. Sorry it seems to little and then when you click the picture it seems to big! Rochelle

Yup I agree, don't try to make the tape so uniform in one piece, use smaller pieces. Nice pics of the bumblebees!! I also agree that the edges where the colors meet doesn't have to be absolutely perfect. I would do an "up and down pouncing" with the "scruffy brush" (check out Donna Dewberry One-Stroke Paintbrushes at Michael's or Joann's craft stores or Walmart) on the color edges and I bet it'll look awesome. I'd also do about three or four layers of thin paint rather than trying to cover it in one or two layers. The scruffy brush is oval in shape and the bristles are about 1/2 inches long. You can make one actually by cutting down the bristes on a paint brush till they're about that height. If you type in "onestrokepainting.com" in your web browser line, her site will come up and you can check it out. Don't give up, we all have trial and errors with projects. Just be patient and I bet your bumblebee BB will turn out fantastic. Sal

A friend of mine had some bowling pins that she turned into penguins. Or should I say "pin-guins". They're very cute. She uses them in her garden all year. At Christmas she makes a big display with them in her front yard, a different theme every year. I wish I had photos to post. She lives on the other side of the country and she's never taken any photos herself.

I just start putting my tiles on at the large hole and go around and around all the way to other end. I use the large hole as a guide. Once I get the first row on then its easy to follow at least for me anyhow(-: I like how everyone else does designs on their balls but I can't seem to get a grip on that yet. Maybe I will try to make one later. I really do enjoy doing the mosaic tiles though it is very relaxing and fun. I do fill in the other holes with spackling so its smooth going(-: I leave the large hole open so that if I want to set it on a piece of rebar I can. I am so glad I found this wonderful forum and all the great people here to inspire me to try making the mosaic bowling balls. I really love them(-:
