Don't be so hard on yourself!!! Cuz I just did the same thing last year!! Got rid of like 6 pick up loads! At least! I have stacks yet of "stuff" I've not been able to part with, all these great "to do" things, more than I could get done if I worked 4 mos straight!! I'm sure! I feel overwhelmed right now too, cuz I GOTTA get outside and get busy with my yard!! Weeding,pruning, making more beds to plant the stuff I haven't planted from last year, make steps and paths and a pond with a fountain.... and make all the cool stuff in my head from the concrete sculpture course! Aaaahhh!!! Jane-o Sidetracko!!!hee hee hee, they're coming to take me away away....
did I mention painting/decorating my art room, finishing the peacock.....

I hope it will make you feel better to know that you are not alone! I understand what you're saying...I also have that trait that I want to do everything I see, and I collect WAY too much stuff to do it with. The "clean start" sounds like the right thing to do, if it's getting you down in the dumps. Then you can concentrate on your glass and mosaics. Hang in there! You are not alone!

Yep, I'm right there with you!! Having a BIG garage sale this May. Maybe another in Aug ( while I've got vacation time). My problem is, everything looks like it wil sell on eBay and well, some of it doesn't. Putting it all out there. I still want to sell what I can on eBay, but concentrate more on mosaics.

I justify my "stuff" by not buying a lot of fancy clothes, shoes etc. I figure a few stacks of plates from the TS for a couple $s is much better than a closet full of shoes ( unless I mosaic them, that is!!)

They don't call it "spring cleaning" for nothing - a time for a fresh start!!

I have been burnt out and depressed too, have projects I need to do and just look at them and sigh, feeling like a loser. But I have been inspired and energized! I think I am over the hump.

See you are NEVER alone in your feelings, we all go through it, I have been bummed because I just don't have time to even try to get stuff started, I get to work on them usually once a week. I haven't even got to start buying stuff for my mannequin, let alone stuff for my other wip. My problem is I usually buy glass and then when I start something I STILL don't have the right color!!!

Don't worry toomuch, we all go through slumps like this.

It'll pass and if you learned from it then it was valuable.

Hang in there Toomuch! I'm guilty of doing the same thing- gathering all the goodies for a big project, then letting them sit and collect dust. So many great ideas, so little time! Sometimes it really helps me to just step away from my crafts for awhile- focus on my garden for a couple weeks, or read a few good books. Then when I get back into crafting, my mind is fresh and I feel more energized. You are not alone!!

I'm right there with you guys. I've been mourning the loss of my workspace and garden. Boo hoo! I'm moving on now!
It was so much fun doing the GOG! Maybe I will get to some of the mosaic projects that are laying around in storage half finished!
I also have so many craft stuff I've bought and never got too. I see something and think that it would be so easy and fun, but then I never get to it. Time to purge all of that stuff!

Well bless your heart. I think it's the artist in all of us that puts us down in the valley at times - it's that overwhelming thingy where we don't accomplish ANYTHING cuz we want to do it ALL. That's been my situation since coming back from the workshop - so many ideas just overloaded my brain, and what w/gardening being another monster I created, I'm torn between the two, so am just plodding along at a slower pace. We'll pick up speed before long, and all w/be off and running again. This w/pass.

I know just what you mean! Because of some family problems my mind was just in a whirl. My craft room was a mess and the place that once gave me comfort was causing even more stress. I finally decided that one type of craft at a time was better for me, so I packed away my fabric and sewing stuff so that it was at least out of sight (in plastic storages crates) and now I feel better about it. If I haven't used the sewing stuff in 6 months I'll start getting rid of it. I re-organized my mosaic items in the empty spaces . Another thing that helped me was moving, but probably not an option for everyone! I re-married about 3 years ago and I was "forced" to eliminate some of my precious 'stuff'. But now, I'm glad I did and just have my sewing and mosaic stuff to deal with. Isn't it odd how we just switch from one thing to another throughout our lives?? I guess it is just the creative spirit that causes us to want to do everything we see. I'm so glad I found this forum, where I have kindred souls!!

You all so my workroom, that was after I got rid of a lot of junk..now that it's clean I feel like working again.I had gotten so burned out making things and no place to sell them I just quit.But I have made up my mind to keep plugging along and making things....if i have to park on the road going to the beach and sell out of my car I'm going to do it,somewhere somehow i will find a place.i pride myself in being generous in giving things away but I'm not rich and need to get something for what i make.At least to cover the cost of what i spend..LOL.

i need to be weeding too and planting stuff sitting on my backporch ...how did I ever work ,raise 3 kids ,create and all that stuff?Now that I'm retired i have noooooooo time?????????????It will pass it did for me when I hooked up with all of you!!!Annie
