Where is everybody ?

I know I'm probably not posting this on the right side - but it's got me wondering ! This forum is beginning to have cob webs on it !! LOL

I'm hoping everyone out there has a million dollar idea they're working on :)

I have been working on some crosses but i have been so down since my mom died and have had a lot to take care of.I am getting back on board but now its time to work in the yard.

I'm here. I worked for so long on the big sign, that I am now having trouble getting started on something new. I managed to go buy some glue since I was totally out. Now I am floundering, thinking what to do? Another large wall hanging? A birdbath? A birdhouse. Something small - a picture frame? It's been ages since I did a flower pot. Today I planted tomatoes and red peppers. Hopefully tomorrow or the next day I will start another mosaic.

Hi Dr. Horticulture! Thanks for the welcome. I've only just started gardening up here so there's not much for me to tell, yet! We added a greenhouse last year and just built a tomato bed for inside it this year. We haven't got as far as heating it yet but we may in the future. It's still going down below freezing in there most nights so I'm not keeping anything out there overnight. I'm starting to realize that heating it would be a good idea if I want to have more plants in there. Yes, we can get frost just about anytime. Back in 2007, we had a big snowstorm on June 7th. I think our average number of frost-free days is about 85. Most people here hold off on planting anything out until at least the May long weekend, and even wait until the first week of June for some things. Some things are okay to plant early as seeds, like peas. Most of my perennials are poking up now, which is exciting. I had a look around last night and just about everything I planted last year seems to be coming back, thank goodness. I'm going to make a list of the things that survived and maybe I'll post it in case anyone's interested. Right now our big projects are to build a shade bed against the north wall of our house and to figure out what we can do with our vegetable beds. We've got the beds in place from the previous owners but they're totally overgrown and full of aspen suckers. I think I'm kind of lucky that I'm starting out as a gardener up here since I have nothing to compare it to. I don't know what I'm missing out on by not living in a hotter zone. How's that for a glass-half-full approach, eh? I'm looking forward to contributing and reading more here. It's such a great resource.

Sorry for the personal followup, but I forgot about this post with the "I hope I'll be okay" part thrown in. At this point I know I'll be 100% okay barring medical oddity, but I knew I'd be in for 6-8 months of treatment, minimum, no matter what. I just didn't want to have my last contribution to this thread to have "hope I'll be okay" in it. Kauai will always be in my vacation plans from now on even if I don't take a job there, though. It was a great couple weeks even with the job interviews strewn through-out.

No snow in my neck of the woods ( sad face)... But I'm carrying 5 college credits that are kicking my butt with the work load, exams, reading, etc. Then I have an machine applique side-job (I'm appliqueing 4" greek letters and numbers onto jackets and t-shirts) I've been busy with. Then girl scout cookie booths and meetings, and we've added dance classes this week, and the list goes on! and on! and on! I still need to photograph the wedding quilt, but I also need time to sit at a laundromat to get it washed before gifting... When to do that with 4 kids in tow?? And next week I get to look forward to DH travelling to Minnesota Wed-Saturday late. Oh Joy! I would also like to work on a challenge quilt that has an ever-approaching deadline... Have grandeous plans that may not be achievable... That's where I've been... remember, you asked first!!

I used to get the coolest ideas from this forum. I have made plate flowers, tea cup bird feeders, tin can lanterns, beaded flower hangers and mosaic stepping stones to name a few. There was more projects than I had tome to do now it seems pretty much dead. All you crafty people please start to post again for us inspiration impaired people like me.

Just spent a week in Kentucky for the 2012 SAMA conference. ABSOLUTELY a wonderful week.

Can't wait to get started on projects with all the new ideas learned. Vendor market was great too and spent lots of $$$. Had to ship a box home!

Got pics of your SAMA trip??? ...like the stuff you got!heh heh! I've been down in PV Mexico with Slow and Klinger...ohhh what a joy to see us all together again!

I am here but I've been a very bad friend. I've been juggling hobbies and, thanks to cold weather, I haven't been doing much mosaic through the winter at all. Though that's no excuse not to come by and see what you all are doing. I'm going to have to catch up on some of your projects. My sea serpent is getting closer and closer to being done. Can't wait until I can post some pictures.

And I'm also wondering where SLOW has been? I don't see her posting on the board recently, and like you, I find that troubling. Hope she is okay!
