I'm curious as to why you want silver plate. We have a full set that my DH received as a present from his employer, and we use it for every day, but it tarnishes and looks awful, so we don't use it for company. You can clean it in an instant in a vinegar solution, but it tarnishes again very quickly. We assume that the tarnish is harmless.
