Thanks for all the comments I'm glad everyone liked them... I hate packing them up till next year. Nona your right... I spent 17yrs in Fla no snow there,LOL!! Mom tells me everytime I talk to her how nice it is. But we are born and raised Buckeyes (Ohio) So she did alot of skating growing up. No need for them in NC either.Or sleds which is what I would love to have next. Nancy I have been planning to make a serving tray from some of the old cards as well. You take a wooden picture frame. Attach two handles at oppisite ends. Take the back of the picture frame and glue the cut outs in a collage then place back in the frame. Walla!!! The picture frame needs to be pretty flat so you can attach the handles. The article I saw also put other items like silk flowers and such. Also using those broken glass ornaments. Of course I've been planning to do this for SEVERAL years!! LOL!

Great pictures! Great job Skyler! And that Reed is as cute as they get! I could never stand up on ice skates, but was fairly good on roller skates. We siblings did a lot of sleding, and even talked our mother into joining us a few times. :-) Our 'hills' were the railroad tracks and the ramps at the grain elevators. I'd say that is a pretty proud grandfather....:-), but I am sure he can not compete with grandmother.

Thank you for all the compliments. You are all so nice. I'm glad you liked it. For those who requested the napkin fold, I got the fold from a blog, but I'm sorry, I can't remember which one. I looked for it again, but could not find it. I will try to give you her instructions. She stated that she did not want anyone to use her photos, and I will respect that. So maybe you can figure it out without them. * Start with the napkin fully open. * Fold in half and fold again in half. You now have a square. * Turn the 4-layered open corner toward you. Begin to peel up each of the 4 layers to align with the top point of the napkin. Space each layer about 1 inch apart. * Now carefully turn the napkin over trying not to disturb your layers. * Bring the left and right sides together, neatly aligning the top of each panel to form a triangular space at the top of the napkin. The bottom point should be about 1 inch wide. * Now flip the napkin over from bottom to top. * Once the napkin has been flipped over, take the top flap and gently peel it up until it forms a neat triangle. It will look sloppy if you allow the triangle to droop. Be careful not to pull the top up too far as this could result in having to start over. * Repeat this step with each layer, tucking the tip beneath each previous fold. Make sure the bottom portion is perfectly aligned with the backside. At this point the napkin can be arranged flat on top of a plate, or it can be placed upright by pulling the back panels out slightly or leaning it against something. This fold looks beautiful as is, or a metallic star sticker can be placed at the top of the tree.

I recently retired and my husband and I have gotten back to ice skating. Love it - we do go to adult sessions and one is even free not far from us on a Friday morning. If they do not have recorded music I suggest an mp3 player (example) with a head phone w/ music you can get a good hard skate. It is wonderful exercise and we love the adult sessions. Unfortunately there are not too many of them around compared to 30 years ago when they were all around us and we would go twice a week with so much fun with the huge crowd.
