Need to choose paint colors for whole house and am overwhelmed!

Our new house is a Georgian style that, though we're trying to keep rather historic looking, we are not huge fans of typical Georgian paint colors. I prefer deep, complex neutrals rather than salmon, aqua, etc., on my walls. I want our beautiful white painted trim to stand out and want the wall paint to work with the flooring, but we haven't seen a sample of stain for our hardwood yet. Likely our painter will be ready before the floor guy will so I am super nervous. Part of the first floor will have an antiqued black and white checkerboard marble (it's more of a greyed white and a white-streaked black). I want the paint colors to compliment the architecture and have no idea how to do this. I love farrow and ball and will use that in the main rooms, but it's price is causing us to use Benjamin Moore in others. I have a million fan decks, but they overwhelm me. How do I begin? thanks!
