Any Ideas How To Achieve The Look Of This Table?

I have a table similar to the one in the back of this picture against the wall except mine is just white. Any ideas on how to make it look like the one in the picture?--paint--stain? Colors?

I was hoping someone else would have an answer for you since I don't have much experience in this area.

I assume you are referring to the nice drop leaf table with the blue distressed finish. I think I've seen something similar on HGTV. One way is to apply multiple colors of paint and distress it by sanding. Another way uses streaks of wax on the wood so the paint does not adhere.

I'd check places like HGTV, BHG, about.com, or some of the primitive sites for help on the best way to do it.

I have a drop leaf table that was my HD Grandmother's and it was made in 1907 and they used something called Milk paint. I came into the table several years ago and it needed some TLC and I refinished it using a milk based paint and it leave a beautiful, old looking finish. Can't remember if I used a sealer but I don't think so, and the table doesn't look like it has a sealer. I didn't "distress" mine and it still looks old mostly because of the color and style of the table.

How much do you want to spend? or DIY? The carport is the overwhelming feature right now. Do you need it as a carport, or are you open to converting it to another use, like a sunroom or even just a covered porch? I think one thing that might work to reduce the impact of the carport but still keep it, is to remove the large filled in triangle below the carport roof, and replace it with a few horizontal wood beams, either stained or painted. Add some MCM looking wood trim around the doors and windows too, stained or painted to match. Add some stone looking cladding to match the house on the support columns. I think a color like the one on this house would look good -- with all the trim in either weathered wood, black, or cream as pictured

What type of wood stain / how might I achieve this look on redwood?

@juliacali Truth be told, I went with a Sherwin Williams oil based stain and I hated it -- it was very orange. So this fall will be painting over it with a darker 'cappucino' colored semi-solid oil based stain. I think sanding down to a fine surface and using a clear/transparent sealant is the way to go. In retrospect I should have had a pro come in to help out, my DIY on this didn't really pan out.

Looking for ideas on how to update this small shed style 70s home, siding is new hardie plank with aluminum shutters , definitely needs a new roof and any other ideas are welcome. I'm stuck and can't think of anything. Considering a matte standing seam roof but also thought about should a porch be added over the front door. Thinking of removing louver shutter spacers perhaps or black windows. Different paint color maybe. I'm stuck for how to improve the exterior. Considering painting the fence black as well or a metal frame fence with wood slats. Thanks for any opinions.

I've painted the tile and frame on a drop basment ceiling and it looked like a new ceiling . Take down the tile to paint them. Don't forget to number them and put them back in the same spot. Even though they are the same size over time they do expand /contract and conform to the space they are in. Otherwise it is like putting back a jigsaw puzzle. Been there done it and it wasn't fun finding out what fit where.

It looks like a faux verdigris (patina) finish. Verdigris is done by first basecoating your piece with copper or gold. Then by sponging or using crumpled plastic wrap you apply 2 colors of green and one blue paint color on to the surface creating a mottled look so the copper/gold base color shows through. You can even add a light touch of white. I love faux finishes and Verdigris is one of my favorites.

If a basecoat of solid gold or copper might be too much you can use terra cotta dry brushed with gold then apply your other colors.
